Jesus made a second exodus , an escape from sin. An escape from slavery and oppression.
But what about what Paul says about being a wretched man? Do you think we take him out of context as Romans 7:14 seems to suggest that he is sold under sin?

Isn't the sinners prayer supposed to be for salvation? Did someone tell you to just pray this prayer and BAM! you're in the kingdom? It takes believing the Gospel and repentance. I don't recite a prayer to be right with the Lord. I just repent, agree that I sinned and understand that I did so against a Holy and loving Father. ( like David's broken heart in psalms) I talk to him like I would
people face to face. I don't do repetitious prayers either. My heart is connected to him when I speak (as in a marriage)

Teddy, I’m sure you can justify each of the verses you cited by explaining their original contexts.
Anyone can pull any o’verse out context to prove his personal extra biblical theory.
In fact, just for kicks, let’s apply Teddy’s approach to biblical interpretation.
Teddy claims the world is flat and he doesn’t sin just because Teddy found some verses.
Obviously to Teddy, the contest where a verse is located has nothing to do with its proper interpretation.
So let’s apply Teddy’s method to biblical interpretation here:
Jesus said in Like 15:26 King James Version
“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
So Teddy, do you hate everybody??? That’s EXACTLY what Jesus said to do, isn’t it??? We’re just applying your silly methodology.
Let’s apply Teddy’s silly methodology to another verse:

If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched—
So, Teddy, since Jesus says to cut off your hand if it cases you to sin, is that what you tell people to do ?

Teddy, let me help.
In order to properly interpret a verse from the Bible you must first read it in context. Then you check it’s original language for possible idioms not necessarily or accurately conveyed by the language into which the original was translated.
Teddy, there’s a little more to Bible interpretation than just inventing your own theology and then yanking verses here, there and anywhere from the Bible to make them fit your own ideas.
Remember, in your next post try to explain the context of all the verses you yanked out of context on this thread so far.

Oh yeah, Teddy, I meant to ask about the snake handling business is going. Yeah, as an obedient Christian you must be handling snakes too because there is a Bible verse about that too.
You can rest assured perfect people won’t die if they get bitten.
Paul was bite by a snake and suffered no side effects. Of course Paul never said he was perfect either so there’s a slight difference between you and Paul.

I got to thinking after I posted about how absolutely silly Teddy’s method of Bible interpretation is and about the possibility of him actually handling snakes, I began to wonder if Teddy might take me serious!
After all he already believes the Bible teaches the earth is flat and he thinks the Bible literally means things it’s obviously says in a figurative sense.

The Bible doesn’t literally mean you’re supposed to go out and literally handle snakes!!
