3 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the Lord.
2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a w-h-o-r-e's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
4 Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
6 The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever.
13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord.
14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Lord: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
19 But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
20 Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the Lord.
21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the Lord their God.
22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God.
23 Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.
24 For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
25 We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.
Just rereading your response again Mark, I wonder if there really is any truth in you either. If you charge somebody with hypocrisy, (which you did) they must be guilty of the same thing that they are complaining about. I am not guilty of what I am complaining about here.
You then commit the logical fallacy of "equivocation" in order to charge me with being a hypocrite twice.
Now, you are either intentional or you are ignorant. Which is it?
You are welcome to think whatever you would like to, I'm already convinced you will do so anyway, in spite of anything I might say.
Just some final words, if I see something like this again, I will click the "report" button.
"Back your claims. I get really sick and tired of the FILTHY lies that you and others here put out again and again. It's totally disgusting. The facts never support you or Jude.... so you must lie and pervert the truth in order to keep arguing. You should just repent of the FILTH and acknowledge your error rather than continuing post after post to make the situation worse and worse. The only support you will ever get is from the others here who have little to no regard for the truth."
It's definitely not appropriate, and really, you're just making yourself look bad. You can convey the same ideas in a much gentler way, like the bible instructs us to. Perhaps if you did follow biblical guidelines in dealing with other people, you might actually get people to listen to you, but if you're wondering why few people respect your "teaching", it's because apparently you aren't. Maybe you're trying to, but it's not coming across.
"And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;"
"Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock."
"Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity"
Teach is older than you, I hope you don't treat your own mother like that.
1. I am not here seeking glory or respect from others. Perhaps this is a driving factor for you but it's not for me. This should be plainly obvious. Whether or not someone "follows (or agrees) with my teaching" is meaningless to me. It's not my concern at all. Clear?
2. I am FED UP with the lying and perverting of the truth and the facts that is coming from the "ingroup" here. Since you all can never win an argument based on Scripture of historical facts, you are reduced to all the other cheap tactics.
3. LYING is FILTHY.
4. It's telling that whenever one of the "ingroup" loses their case, they cry about being "insulted" or "threaten to report me".
5. Teach is NOT my elder in any Biblical sense. You all need to stop perverting that Scripture. Further, if you wish to claim that she is my elder, then I would like to see a much better example coming from her than what I have personally seen. I certainly do not look up to her as an elder in any sense.
6. I no longer recognize any of you as holding to Biblical faith. Quite simply, there is just way too much error to conclude otherwise. If you would like to argue about the "character" of the individuals in question, I don't see it there either. You all believe the same about me. So, I am simply acknowledging the obvious from both sides.
7. You probably should stay out of things that don't directly concern you. (such as this discussion here)
8. If you wish to enter into things that don't directly concern you, you really should at least pretend that you do not have a bias. Also, you should do so with some consistency.
"You are welcome to think whatever you would like to, I'm already convinced you will do so anyway, in spite of anything I might say."
I've specifically stated to you that I do not wish to have any dialogue with you privately or publicly. I am restating that again now. Let's see if you intend to show any respect for that. You lost credibility with me a while back. Personally, I do not buy into the SDA cult thing nor do I buy into anything else you are selling. I hope that I have made my thoughts abundantly clear to you.
Since I am YOUR ELDER, please do not attempt to rebuke me again. K?
"Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity"
1.You accomplish your goal of pushing other threads off to the second page?
Please...... grow up!!
2.PJ,
Grow up!! All of you people are seniors and you behave like nursery schoolers.
3.Liar, Liar, pants on fire......... What church do you belong to that teaches you that lying again and again in public is proper?
4. Another instance of completely twisted and perverse reasoning
5.The intention for "posting thread after thread of scripture" was VERY clear. To even try to defend such action is very sad and twisted.
6-18...

***********
On this tread, of the 36 posts, including this one, IWA has posted 20 times,
Closing it with a dialogue/monologue with an individual he says he's not communicating with. (DHTM)
***********
IWA posted his first response to this thread before I, Teach, had posted a new topic.
And what might have been some of the topics that could have been knocked off the front page: 3 by IWA
1. Humpty Dumpty
2. WWJD (what would Jesus drive)
3. I Confess! Confessions of a harsh, intolerant, judgmental one...
The Scripture posts didn't prevent people from responding to those or several other posts on other pages.
Bravo Teach! Now, explain how any of that matters to the original point that I made? and while you are at it... please back your claims without shifting the argument to some straw man,.
Smoke, mirrors,.... more smoke... more mirrors....... more smoke... more mirrors...............
I am VERY bothered by lies, deceit, manipulation, and all of the other junk that you and others in this thread have put out. Call it a personal pet peeve but I just don't like liars. Simple as that.
Just posting scripture...nothing more nothing less...Its really a Good Read...give it read... :0) X <>< O
Here is straw man argument # 1
"So why is it such a horrible thing to post Scripture instead of copying and pasting man's interpretation or thoughts to scroll topics off the page?
When it's considered a bad thing to post Scripture, we should watch out..."
Here is you continuing to argue the straw man that you set up in the previous response:
"Posting Scripture should never be questioned on a Christian website."
Here is another deception (false claim):
"It's very clear that the excessive copying and pasting of men's dissertations or individual's interpretations is to knock discussions off the front page. If it wasn't, the copying and pasting could be done in the same threads."
Here is Teach arguing her straw man some more:
"I will continue to post Scriptures as often as I feel lead...you're free to interpret my actions as you choose just as each of us are free to choose what to post when."
Here is a dig: ( a ridiculous one)
"Maybe if people would spend more time reading Scripture and less time reading man's interpretation of it, the world would be a better place. It's the Scripture that holds the truth."
Here is another deception: (false claim)
"Double standards...he's revealing his own hypocrisy. Twisting & inserting words as he pleases in attempting to appear to be copying & pasting other's posts."
And another dig:
"Makes me wonder even more the words he twists in his posts."
And still MORE arguing against the straw man:
"There are plenty of places for people to get daily devotions...and I still think Scripture is far better for a daily devotion than man's interpretation."
And YET ANOTHER deception (false claim)
And a daily devotion would be a single post, again, there are extensive numbers of posts by the same individuals when the discussion doesn't seem to be going their way.
And another dig: (unsupportable)
" Double standards... "
And still more arguing against the straw man -- lots more smoke and mirrors but failure to deal with any of the issues that have been brought to your attention.
"So I did not say anyone posted 10+ topics, I said they are posting enough to knock topics off the front page. As I looked back over the pages of 10 topics per page, there are multiple sets of 10 where either IWA, DLJM, or Halfback posted 8 of the 10 on the page.
With the exception of the last week or so, as I looked over the last 45 or so pages, I found that DLJM was the most prolific OP, most recently only 2 or 3 but up to 6 on three consecutive pages. The next most prolific OP was IWA averaging 2 to 4 per page. Then Truthcarrier and Halfback come in with 1-3 on average.
The others Jude, LTM, DHTM, Teach, McCubed, Prophet, we're more sporadic in OPs. Teach had a high of 5 and Jude had the high of 7...one time but for the most part they only had OPs scattered throughout the 10 per page.
So I stand by my statement. I'm a numbers person...I love spreadsheets! "
And after all that, you still have failed to admit or acknowledge any of the original wrong doing or subsequent deceptions and evasions. Speaks for itself, does it not Teach? All of that activity was yours except for the original lie.
Teach:,"Maybe if people would spend more time reading Scripture and less time reading man's interpretation of it, the world would be a better place. It's the Scripture that holds the truth."
And how is this ridiculous? Just what is it you have against pure Scripture? Does the truth of God's Word bother you that much?
I can't see how passages from Jeremiah might hold less weight then a farce on Humpty Dumpty.
"And how is this ridiculous? Just what is it you have against pure Scripture? Does the truth of God's Word bother you that much?"
EVERYONE here knows that I have NO problem whatsoever with the TRUTH of God's word. How stupid is that claim?
"I can't see how passages from Jeremiah might hold less weight then a farce on Humpty Dumpty. "
There was an entire lesson in that story but I never went back to tell it. Reason why: Pearls before swine. After Jude intentionally kicked my posts off to the back page, I decided not to bother.
Summing this up: When it gets to this point all anyone sees is two little kids in the sandbox fighting over the shovel and the pail. The TRUTH is entirely lost for the onlookers. That's the sad fact. However, everyone involved here in this thread and more importantly, God himself, knows the truth of what went on.
For me this verse sums it up:
1Tim 4:2 [KJB:PCE]
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.
