Is he speaking about obeying and sub,itting to spiritual leaders OR obeying and submitting to government leaders?... OR BOTH?... Hebrews chapter 13, Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. (NIV) Post Reply

The verses you referred to would have to be leaders as in government. Because they hAve to give n ccount for punishing. 15 Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. 16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. 17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you. WhAt do you think? What is the clue to a believer in this response, what exposes the unbelief? ME: It is a believer WITH THE MIND OF CHRIST (1 Cor. 2:16) responding to a misinterpreted verse after having rightly divided the word of truth WITH REASONING, Dr. Phil. You should try it. It is unworthy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Do you think that you should also rebuke brother PJ of the same thing, Elisha? I apologize, PJ. He is still needing rebuke. Is he not? If you do not rebuke him, then you are partial and not fully judging things rightly, sister. If this is the case, then I suggest you also repent, ask for forgiveness and rebuke your brother PJ no matter if it is blatant or not. Remember, a soft answer turns away wrath. And if PJ is walking in truth, then he too, should watch his words to us as well. After all, if he counts us as "unbelievers", then he is to not judge us and leave us to ourselves more so, because the Word of God commands the follower of Christ to do such (1 Cor. 5:12-13a For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?13 God judges those outside." ). Do you agree, sister Elisha? Post Reply
