Calvin cannot produce life his own words prove he did not believe the word of God, so why are you so determined to follow him and forsake life?

dljrn04 ,

"Shame on you"!

You Deny the Truth and use Wikipedia (I can go on Wikipedia and ADD pretty much what I want to to their "FACTS") to Deflect The TRUTH!

Google Micheal Servetus and you will find DOZENS of Sources Stating that it was Calvin that KILLED Servetus.

You will also find where DOZENS of Women were Burned St The Stakes (as Witches) by Calvin.

I will start a new Thread explaining the Sophistry of Calvinism.

Peace

Not familiar with American history, but were not a number of the linchings done Christians of various denominations.

There will be people in every denomination, or at the very least associated with it will do dodgy things in action that do not bring glory to God in everything they do.

So what tenant of Calvinism is it that you have issue with? (and quite possibly rightly so).

Michael Servetus,

(born 1511?, Villanueva or Tudela, Spain died Oct. 27, 1553, Champel, Switz.) Spanish physician and theologian. His views alienated both Roman Catholics and Protestants, beginning with the publication of his first book, De Trinitatis erroribus (1531), in which he denied the Holy Trinity. His most important work, Biblia sacra ex Santis Pagnini translatione (1542), was notable for its theory of prophecy. Elsewhere he questioned the usefulness of baptism and criticized the promulgation of the Nicene Creed. Persecuted by John Calvin, he was convicted of heresy in Geneva and burned at the stake. His notable contribution to medicine was the first accurate description of cardiopulmonary circulation of the blood (1553).

Michael Servetus (also Miguel Servet or Miguel Serveto) (September 29, 1511 October 27, 1553) was a Spanish theologian, physician, and humanist.

His interests included many sciences: Astronomy, meteorology, geography, jurisprudence, study of the Bible, mathematics, anatomy, and medicine. He is renowned in the history of several of these fields, particularly medicine, and theology.

He participated in the Protestant Reformation, and later developed an anti-trinitarian theology. Condemned by Catholics and Protestants alike, he was burnt at the stake by order of the Geneva governing council as a heretic. His execution at the hands of Protestants did much to strengthen the case for religious liberty and for the separation of Church and state, so much so that his death may have been more significant than the ideas he espoused while alive. The role played by John Calvin was controversial at the time. Calvin almost left Geneva due to public "indignation" against him for his part in the affair.[1] Servetus' execution showed that Protestants could be just as intolerant as Catholics in dealing with those they considered to hold unacceptable religious convictions.

There are a lot of versions they all say the same thing. He was burned at the stake by Protestants, and Catholics for being a heretic so what. If that was still in affect there would not be so many denominations, would there. Oh and just because Calvin was on the Geneva governing council that tried him makes him a bad preacher.
