1. Communion with God. When believers pray we are to share our hearts and cares with God.
2. Adoration to God. We are to show great love, give praise and worship to God, and toward God.
3. Thanksgiving is given to God. Our prayers should include thanks to God for all He has done, all that He is doing, and for all He is going to do in our lives.
4. Confession of sins. When we pray our prayer should include sincere confession of our sins and repentance of our sins, and seek His cleansing power of forgivenness of our sins.
5. Intercession for help. Our prayer should include interceeding on behalf of people all over the world for healing, deliverance, and the lost unto salvation.
Prayer is not for God's benefit, it is for our benefit. God commands us to always pray wihtout ceasing, it is our tool to stay connected with Him.
The effective fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. Our prayers go where we cannot go in the physical, and accomplishes what we cannot in the spiritual.
And this is the confidence that we have in God, that if we ask anything according to His perfect will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. Prayer is a tool that get us guick access before the throne of God when we come boldy without doubting.
PJ, there is no need to argue you and I and everyone who reads this thread know the truth about what God says in His word about prayer, and my post stand true to what is written in God's word.
God hears everything we say and do, and there are time when our prayers do not reach His ears because of wrong motives and unconfessed sins, etc., and all the other reason plus those He finds as to not answer. Where is your spiritual insight into understanding the spiritual things of God?? I've been asked many time why do I enevn concern myself with you guys and all your condeming and negativity alwasy coming up against the turth I post, when it is proven by your comments you're so far off and you're not even comprehending spritually. I always tell those hwo ask, my concern isnt about you guy, but about others who are reading this post and have need to knwo the truth of God's word, so it gives me greta pleasure to point out what God's has to say, when looking at what you guy have to say, people know whatis a turht and what isn't because of your comments...
Any person with a slight limited reading ability and just coming into the faith understands what I have posted. Funny People tend to make comments based on their own opinions due thier lack of knowledge and understanding in a matter, and not on what is written in God's word.
Yes, Jesus answered Peter's prayer, and Peter's prayer was not based on doubting that Jesus would or would not answer or save him, but Peter cried out for help because he was sinking after walking out on the water, and he made an urgent prayer cry.
He became fearful after looking at the storm around him and cried out for Jeuss to help him from sinking. This is why Jesus questioned his faith, as to why he started walking on the water and was doing fine, coming to Him... then he became afradi upon seeing the storm.
A prayer cry for help in times of troubles God always answers. Yes, God hears our prayers but He does not answers our prayers always for several reason just as I have posted according to His divine will for our life and based on our motives, and that's Bible!
You must understand and know the difference in what prayer is about on the level I have posted. this is not about a prayer cry for help in time of troubles..
Prayers that were not answered I realize I'm dealing with those who by your comments are lacking spiritu insight nd knowldge and tend to always need to agrue against God's truth becasue you really don't know any better... and that's okay because you are not fighting against me but against what God has said through me, so Im not worried about what you spill out of your motuhs toward me. I am still woman hear me roar!
You can only do this because you have no qualifying biblical information to go against what I have posted, onkly your own carnal opinions which don't count, becaseu what you speak isn;t based on scritural truths... so you must attack me on a personal level... and this is only a sign of an insecure person who tries to keep the focus off their lack of knowing...
Anywayzzzz, what does God tells Jeremiah? Therefore, DO NOT PRAY for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them for I will NOT HEAR THEM IN TIME WHAT THEY CRY OUT TO ME, because of their troubles. Jeremiah chapter11
Another Beautiful example of God turning a deaf ear to some of our prayers is in Proverbs chapter 1, read it for yourself and see what you come up with.
Also, Esau God did not answer his prayer and his prayers were in vain
King Saul's prayers were in vain and God did not answer I Samuel chapter 14; I Samuel chapter 28
King David God did not hear or answer his prayer they were in vain 2 Samuel chapter 12
Elijah - I Kings chapter 2; 2 Kings chapter 2
Jonah 4
Apostle Paul 2 Corinthians chapter 12.
When you have finish reading then we can effectively discuss. It amazes me how someone who cannot explain anything sound about what God has to say about the power of prayer and it effects, or even provide passages, can disagree with others who have searched and studied the scriptures and found much about prayer according to what God has to say... something is very wrong with this picture... always got a word that is faithless, full of doubt, criticism, and void and empty and can't produces nothing... bless your hearts, when will you stop being so spiritually immature and childish....
I asked once and I will ask again, what are the elments Jesus points out in Matthew chapter 6 that are to be included in our prayer requests. Does anyone even know the Lord's Prayer or Disciples Prayer, or even heard of it? Amazing...
An excellent example of childish and immature is a previous thread where et and jude ragged my A$$ to the point, I had to log out. LOL The cougar et wanted young chevy and her piggyback friend wanted the cowboy. Check it out guys and you will understand why I think anything they say is nothing but hot air. Thanks but no thanks. Folks like that are truly blind teachers . They want to teach so badly ! But do you want women like that trying to teach you spiritually? I sure don't !
Thanks you Bahira, for your spiritual insights, so many people don't understand the power or importance an effective of prayer that avails much, and wonder why their prayers are not being answered.
This is the purpose of my post to give out information according to what God teaches us in His word. And as I said, all of this can be found in Matthew chpater 6, as Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, if prayer wasn't how we ought to pray and the elemnets of prayer were not imprtant, it would not have been necessary for Jesus to teach his diciples those elements that should be included in our prayers, the model prayer Jesus' prayed is that of a perfect praye, but a person has need of spiritual insights to know these things...
