Accordingly, it must and dare not be considered a trifling matter but a most serious one to seek counsel against this and to save our souls from the Jews, that is, from the devil and from eternal death. My advice, as I said earlier, is:

First, that their synagogues be burned down, and that all who are able toss sulphur and pitch; it would be good if someone could also throw in some hellfire...

Second, that all their books-- their prayer books, their Talmudic writings, also the entire Bible-- be taken from them, not leaving them one leaf, and that these be preserved for those who may be converted...

Third, that they be forbidden on pain of death to praise God, to give thanks, to pray, and to teach publicly among us and in our country...

Fourth, that they be forbidden to utter the name of God within our hearing. For we cannot with a good conscience listen to this or tolerate it...

-Martin Luther (On the Jews and Their Lies)

Here's a second quote:

My essay, I hope, will furnish a Christian (who in any case has no desire to become a Jew) with enough material not only to defend himself against the blind, venomous Jews, but also to become the foe of the Jews' malice, lying, and cursing, and to understand not only that their belief is false but that they are surely possessed by all devils. May Christ, our dear Lord, convert them mercifully and preserve us steadfastly and immovably in the knowledge of him, which is eternal life. Amen.

-Martin Luther (On the Jews and Their Lies)

What do you think? Was Luther as bad as these quotes sound? Was it merely the air he breathed or did have a certain disgust for the Jewish people?

Pardon my heartlessness, but if misled Christian NAZI devils had not decided to act against God's word and attempt genocide against Jews, would Israel exist today?

James replies:

You know, I just watched a documentary DVD I have, on world war two, and they showed Hitler's decree that ALL crosses be removed from ALL churches in Germany and be replaced with the swastika. He decreed that all churches be shut down, and the Bible be removed from all public schools. In Mien Kampf, Hitler said that Christians were an illegitimate offspring of Judaism and that he would deal with them after he dealt with the Jews.

Now, ten minutes later I am reading your words: "Christian Nazi devils". Good Grief.

Sir James said that he doesn't ascribe any significance to the formation of that country, but I do. If you read Isaiah, there are countless examples of how God can use war and tremendous casualties to bring about his will.

Israel exists today. That is relevant.

James replies:

1.Israel is an average nation. They spy on us, we give them money, they have organized crime, etc. They are a democratic republic of sorts. they are a good ally of our nation. HOWEVER.....when ever I weigh the average nation of Israel against their FOUL, BARBARIC, neighbors, I come out pro-Israel every time.

2. I am Reformed. Maybe you have heard the term 'Calvinist'?

This means I don't believe in Dispensationalism, I believe in covenant theology. God has ONE people. He started with just the Jews, but then expanded his covenant to include Gentiles.

The word "Israel" in the New Testament means Spiritual Israel, or God's chosen people, who are now known as Christians.

People who practice Judaism today, are NOT God's chosen people.

That means that the modern day nation called Israel, has no Biblical significance. I am pro-Israel, but it has nothing to do with anything in the Bible.

In Christ,

James

SirJames The Puritans were a part of what became the Congregational Church here in America. They subscribed to a modified Calvinist Doctrine--which can best be defined by five words: depravity, covenant, election, grace,

Scripture gives great significance to Israel,

Rom 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

You are Christian Israel according to scripture.

Plus the president we have today is a lot better than his predecessor

Sirjames How can you use man of God and hate in the same context, does not jibe sir, the greatest movement in Christianity was when those of the Jewish Faith or Judea took the Gospel to the world. Not Calvin, Augustine or Luther can match or even come near that movement, the other great movement was of those who were martyred for their Belief in Christ.
