What does this verse mean to you?

Isaiah 55:8

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

Ryan, thank you for the clarification.

In light of your answer how do you interpret. Ephesians 2:1 "And you were once dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked...." There are some who take this to mean it is impossible for dead man to hear God without being born again first. Only because of your previous posts did I think this was your position on the matter. My apologies if I misunderstood you.

Just to make sure I understand, are you referring to a dead man "walking"? If so, I believe that man is dead to anything spiritual and cannot respond to anything spiritual.

Then one would have to conclude your answer came from a dead man Ryan!!.

Ryan,

Then it is your position that a man must be born again 'before' he can respond to the Holy Spirit.

Btw, why is it so hard to get a straight answer from you?....just saying.

If you are not sure of your position on this, that is okay, I'm not here to tell you what to believe, or dis you for not having a postion yet, however by discussing it God may bring revelation.

Ryan - Yes regeneration precedes faith

Ryan - I didn't realize it was. I thought I was answering you.

Ryan,

What makes you think regeneration precedes faith?

4But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved 6and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus

Ephesians 2:5

While we were dead, He made us alive. One who already has faith is not dead.

21For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will.

John 5:21

25"Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

John 5:25

Those who hear, WILL live.

When asked how one can be born again, Jesus answers,

8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

John 3:8

My question to you:

If someone asked you how to be born again, would you quote John 3:8 or would the reality of John 3:8 be in your answer somewhere?

I'm sorry Ryan, none of theses verses actually say what you are claiming. What you have done is interpret these verses in the light of a particular doctrine. There is not one verse that says a person is born again before they believe.

To answer your question: I have never used John 3:8 when sharing Jesus, I can't say I would'nt use it with the right person. However I fail to see the relevance of your question.
