Admin	T.U.L.I.P. Posted : 24 Jan, 2011 10:24 AM I do not have a problem with T.U.L.I.P. However I do have a problem with the "adjectives" of T.U.L.I.P. T = "TOTAL" depravity U = "UNCONDITIONAL" election L = "LIMITED" atonement I = "IRRESISTIBLE" grace P = Perseverance of the Saints TOTAL, even in Calvinism it does not really mean "total"; it just means man cannot save himself. UNCONDITIONAL, God being outside the confines of time and space; who are we say He hasn't chosen because of some condition? LIMITED, to say something is 'limited', it must be quantified and compared. It is like saying Jesus shed a certain quantity of blood and comparing it to the number of sinful people it would cover. Atonement doesn't work that way. IRRESISTIBLE, by making Grace irresistible, it robs us of the greatest gift we can give God : Love The above is not meant to "set anyone straight"...lol. This is just how I honestly see it and am certainly open to discussion and other views. However, if you want to "set me straight", that is OK also, just come prepared. Post Reply

Posted : 26 Jan, 2011 11:43 AM PJ, This is what I don't understand; Even the fact that we are alive, created by God, for God is a gift, our very next breath is a gift from God. So how can faith not be a gift? I see faith as the muscles God put on my bones as a gift, However it is up to me to exercise them to make them grow or at least maintain them. How could God create man and not give him the ability to believe or at least a seed to start with. If you notice in many of Jesus's parables; God gives something like a starter kit to someone, then it is up to them what they do with it next. Post Reply

We all are given a measure of faith. calvinist error in thinking that God may be in our time line.God does not live in time we do. So, he gives everybody the choise of being saved and some of us like the jews will reject him. He is at the beginning and the end at the same time. Did calvin understand this?????????????????
