I wanna Boaz ?

I have read that some females here are seeking their Boaz but unfortunately do not expect to be a Ruth . How many Godly expectations as opposed to just demands or worldly expectations are the basis for their decision to accept or reject a man after God`s own heart who is seeking that pearl of great price ?

where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.

Ruth 1:17 "Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus may the LORD do to me, and worse, if anything but death parts you and me."

Responsibility is not removed from men for seeking a proverbs 31 wife which we dont all too often because we get blinded by physical beauty but the thread originally centered on the wanting a Boaz without even coming close to being a Ruth . One of the comments I read was a preference by her future guy ,,,,,,,,,,,,,he must like the finer things in life .................and it wasnt about the treasures we store up in heaven . It was about nice cars , clothing , dining , neighborhoods , etc . I know I have read that here at least 5 times . There are so many points to be made in Ruth but marrying a rich guy isnt one of them .

thanks for the reply.

i have a friend who is going through a situation that ruth did. the only difference is that God is leading her far far away from the man, instead of to where he is. when we ask God to direct our steps, he hardly and most likely never answers the way we want or expect... the same goes to every record in the bible which you are basing your argument on. our God is a big picture kinda guy, and as it is written, "his will be done". what i'm trying to say is, the story of ruth was about FAITH, same with boaz. we often look at the circumstances and the movements, but neglect to take away the lesson to be learned is about FAITH and OBEDIENCE. it is normal to look at the bible and find stories similar in circumstances to our own, but too often we take the bones of the story and leave the meat.

when the Lord answers prayers we are to OBEY, and before he does we are to wait. we can speculate of course but why not just live and say...Psalm 118:24 (King James Version)"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."?

the intire bible is a record of God's character. his love, mercy, wrath, faithfulness, grace, truth, light etc etc... it is there so we can know him, and when the time comes and we are challenged, we can rest assured that HE IS. and by FAITH, OBEY him..

Well written my sister but let us not make a statement that this story or that is about ...............in this case as you said Faith and Obedience .The Bible stories are usually about a plethora of topics but certainly faith and Obedience would be hard pressed to surface in Ruth . Naomi`s family left Judah and went to a foreign land and there is no indication that God told them to go but He might have . I dont think it matters much as far as the book of Ruth is concerned but the next exploits are important . The sons married foreign women and that was not being obedient to the Word and since there wasnt any comments about not doing the marriages , one might speculate that Naomi might have been OK with the marriages but again it doesnt say she condoned the actions of her sons . Now Ruth had faith in what Naomi told her to do but I dont see anywhere the trusting in God we see so often in other scripture . No , the book has other lessons and they are plenty but none comes close to the redeeming power of God not only to a sinner like Naomi who said God was against her but to mankind , by having what we would agree are bad things occur at intervals ( famine , bad marriages, no children , death , poverty ) only to have them overshadowed by God`s blessings in both the short( God providing a provider , husband, father ) and long term , Boaz and Ruth`s son becoming the Father of Jesse who was the father of David who was bloodline of Jesus our redeemer . Yes it is Romans 8 :28 in action . Whod a thunk ?

This is not a hard QA. If people really want to follow God then these questions and answers are simple. Seek the Lord and he will put the right person in your path. Us ladies know that sometimes you can't control the heart so seeking God's will for your life in what is most important. Can't go wrong. Let's face it most of the time people get married for two reasons first LUST and the second it for MONEY.

Once you have the Holy Spirit in your life everything changes. What you once thought or wanted is now different. Men have the real burden to follow God's plan and to be faithful to God and then lead his wife and be faithful to her.

Do you want what God has for your life or do you want to tell God want you want?

Hi....

excellent Carib...I was just reading the forum and I agree with you totally....All the stories of the Bible are lessons to be learned in Faith and Love. Pure obedience and love. All in our own lives..

A Boaz man....a woman like Ruth....We are who we are...Children of God in our own right.... too much categorizing...it's not for me.
