Was Job's actions faith or Fear?

4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

The book of Job is about God getting Job in touch with his sin of pride. Although God states that job was righteous, Job was not without pride therefore, God had to show him that he indeed had hidden pride, becaeu Job thought he was without pride, and ignorance as to the power of God, but God revealed it to him that he was full of pride and ignorance of God's power.

This is what Chapters 38-42 reveals...

This thread reminds me of something that really happened... there was this young man who came to a church to minister. And he thought he was God's answer to His word, and woman's answer to men. This dude just knew he had the word of God not only in his mouth, but he was God 's walking word, because he thought he could really preach and no one could tell him anything.

Well, he was invited to minister one night, so he got up full of pride, all dress in his fine suit, and gave his introduction, and then asked everyone to please open their Bibles to Job chapter 4,. Well, everything would have been ok, except, he pronounced Job as in the word job (like get a job), and the congregation cracked up before they knew it... and this guy still didn't have a clue why people were ...

Can you imagine open your Bible to job chapter 4, and lets look at verse 5... pride will do a number on ya!

Oh, I forgot, Job was about faith and trust in God, nowhere can we find any thing in his story about fear. Job also lets us know that satan can't do anything without permission from God, so we as believers must always know and understand, nothing just happens to us without God's permission.:applause:

Satan only has limited power over us, according to what God allows him to have for our strengthening of character. God is still his boss and in control over all things including satan...:applause::bow::bow::bow:

Sir PhilipJohn,

Contrary to your beliefs, satan has limited powers and access to God. God is sovereign over satan, satan is not all powerful when it comes to God, and CANNOT TOUCH GOD'S PEOPLE OR DO ANYTHING WITHOUT GOD'S PERMISSION.

Are you sure YOU are reading the account of job with clear understanding. If you believe that satan has equal power to God, then satna has you fooled, and this would account for your not comprehending the scriptures clearly with spiritual understanding as you should.

So what does the word say?...

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and satan came among them,

And the Lord said to satan, From where do you come? So satan answered the Lord and said, From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.

Then the Lord said to satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?

So satan answered the Lord and said, Does Job fear God for nothing? Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now , stretch out your hands and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!

So the Lord said to satan, BEHOLD (LOOK) ALL THAT JOB HAS IS IN YOUR POWER, ONLY DO NOT LAY A HAND ON HIS PERSON. Then satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

Here you see God giving satan permission to test Job, if you can't see this, there is a problem with your understanding....and I say, Houston, we've got a biiiggg problem! Satan is limited in what he can do and what he cannot do by the unlimited power of God. Are you serious to think that satan has equal power to God?

Where are you getting your teachings from?

It sure isn't the Holy Spirit teaching you these things. God is ALL POWER OVER SATAN and ONLY what God allows can satan do. There is nothing that happens on earth, in heaven or even in hell without God's permission!!! You're giving satan too much credit and power if you think satan has equal power to God.

Why do you think that when we speak the name of Jesus, the devil will flee?... or maybe you don't believe this either... sigh... but it is written whether you believe it or not.
