philipjohn my point of original sin is that it caused a spiritual death to adam and all his decendants(us)that can only be overcome by a spiritual awakening,wich happens when we are born again.this is very evident in the bible,Im not trying to be mean or arguementitive,but all of you that beleive differently are doing the same to me!Its okay to have arminian beleifs,but not the doctrines of grace.and yes Garrett,im sorry,but if you beleif in "free will"then you have arminian beleifs.Ive been called arguementitive,blasphemous,heretic,ect....so whats the difference,after much study,life expeireince and prayer,i strongly beleive in the doctrines of grace......is that okay with you!!!!!!

... umm... wow. I'm kind of at a loss for words. Before I even came to this site, I had never even HEARD of Arminian/Calvinist. And you're going to tell me that I have Arminian beliefs. Sorry bud. I just believe in Jesus and try to follow His commands as closely as I can. I'm not sure why you're getting so upset. You came back to this website to start up a Calvinist/Arminian debate, and now that you've succeeded, you're upset at the lack of support you have from your fellow brothers. That doesn't mean I don't love you. I just don't agree with your beliefs. Fact of the matter is, who am I to tell you you are wrong. Only God is truth. Study His word and spend time with Him, and He will reveal his wisdom to you. If what he reveals to you is different from what I believe, so what? Don't listen to me and follow those directions, because in the end, all of our works will be tested, and we will be held accountable for what our own hands have done. My advice is to not align your beliefs in such a way that you are either a Calvinist or an Arminian. Read the word of God, and listen to what it says. Don't compare it to the doctrines of other followers, because if they are christians, then their doctrines will have come from the Bible anyways. Go straight to the source. I'm sorry if we have offended you, man. (myself included) Peace, brotha! :peace:

nothing wrong with a little debate among brothers right!I beleive the doctrines of grace are important,and should be discussed among christians because salvation hinges upon god freely giving his grace to those he chooses,not mans will but gods!:applause:

Well I will second His suggestion, if you are wrong age has nothing to do with nor does history, history is not the Gospel.

@PhillipJohn:

You are right, history is not the gospel. BUT, if you do history studies and you find out that Christians, and not only some branches, but also very early Christians who have maybe been knowing people who knew Jesus and have been told about Him more direct have believed differently than you do interpreting todays bible translations, then this could get you started thinking that maybe you misunderstand not all the right way in the bible, so I think history isn't anything to look down on. It can show us a way to understand the gospel better.

There is not only one way to interpret what's in the bible. Yo have your way of bible interpretation, others have other ways. The Spirit tells you whether you are right, but the Spirit won't act as a proof for you, you cannot use Him as a tool. So unless He speaks to the person yo have an argument with, there is no way for both to tell who is right, because, of course the others also claim to be guided by the Spirit.

God bless you

I guess my time's up on this thread. I just wanted to say that:

1. I never claimed to have "all wisdom"

2. Your age compared to my age means nothing in regards to one's closeness with God, and we will NEVER be so great that we don't need to go to God's Word. All the history I need is in there.

3. The only reason I was sharp was because of your previous response to me. I'm sorry for the attitude.

Best of luck to you in your search!

...seems to me like someone trying to hold their "greatness" over other people lately...again. "I'm better, I'm smarter, I'm wiser, listen to me! I have the truth!"
