Gay Marriage/Homosexuals/God's Kingdom

I know this is a sensitive subject, but who has any deeper truth, insight, or thoughts to share? I don't want to offend anyone, especially people on here who are gay who seek to make a sincere, faith based connection.

I know that God designed man and woman to unite on all levels, and that marriage should only be between man and woman, so how do you deal with same sex relationships? (besides God's command to love all people)

Can two gay, Christian people be married, and still be called Christians? I'm wondering? No ill-intentions here.

I have a cousin who is gay. He considers himself a Christian.

He had a stroke several years ago at a young age, and his life is severely challenged. He's my family. I love him. So, please know there is no prejudice here. I'm not racist either.

My ex-girlfriend is an ex-Muslim from Morocco who is now a born-again, baptizied, Holy Spirit infused Christian. So, I can do my best to objectively understand many things, but as Christians.... God's Word ultimately has to be our Authority on all matters. Not what we pick and choose.

Also, can a homosexual really enter into God's Kingdom?

I can think of one bible verse:

Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulters, nor effeminate, nor homesexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the Kingdom of God. ( 1 Cor. 6:9-10)

Pretty straightforward. No room for error. Harsh it may even sound to outsiders, but God's Word, nonetheless.

Can anyone help me out on this one?

Thanks-Will

Never ceases to amaze me the people that have no desire to conform their lives to His Will, yet think they will be happy in Heaven living under His Way. If a person is unwilling to sacrifice their will for His here on earth, I have to wonder why they think that somehow it will be easier to sacrifice their desires for His authority in the next realm.

It is easy to glance back at Eden and think, "All they had to do was NOT EAT THE FRUIT!! Just DON'T DO IT!!" That tree, that temptation was their greatest, perhaps only weakness, and Satan knew this, and he exploited it.

What is our weakness? We all have our weakness that the devil exploits. Do we recognize it as such, or do we make excuses, like "God made me this way, He gave me the desire."

One thing I have learned over the years is that desire that borders obsession, desire that consumes your thinking, desire that burns inside and demands our focus, is generally not a gift from God, but a desire we have that the devil is exploiting. The more we focus on our obsession, the more painful it is to be without it. This is a demonic manipulation intended to twist our focus away from Obedience in the Word, and we start looking for ways to justify our thinking, much as many have done with this topic, but it isn't just this topic.

What is your Eden, what is the weakness the devil can twist and manipulate your thinking on to his advantage, getting you to believe that if you can convince enough people, what God says won't really matter? As long as its done in love, it will be okay. You can keep the glory as long as you use the name of God to help others. You can view anything you want on the internet as long as you don't cross that line and hurt someone by cheating. You can cheat as long as you keep it under raps so the spouse doesn't find out. You don't have to follow the Word because it has been translated so many times already that it probably isn't even correct anymore.

None of these excuses will stand when you stand before Him. He will not hold you accountable for following the word that someone 800 years ago "adjusted", but He will hold you accountable for not following what you knew was clearly written and chose to ignore, or not believe.

If people want to live in a heaven where they can lie, and fornicate with multitudes, and be first in every line and exulted for their every word, thought or deed, well then maybe you are serving the wrong God, for our God is not a God of self, but of others and finding the joy in serving others through Him because this is His Way.

So self examine always and learn to recognize your Eden. What is the number one thing the devil would look at you, and decide to amplify your desires for? Alcohol? Sex? Recognition? Money? Pride? the next hot car or boat or house?

Recognize your Eden and sacrifice it before the Lord and ask Him to take it for it is the exploitation of that weakness that the devil is twisting to keep you from focusing on the Lord and His real plan for your every footstep.

Focus not on the sins of others, but on the sin that keeps you from being closer to Him. Be not consumed in the forbidden fruit of your Eden, but in turning the Light of the World on to shine on anything and everything that takes your focus from Him.

What is the defination of a Christian Marriage?

God explains His relationship to us is through the metaphor of marriage and so we are, spiritually speaking, God's wives. It is therefore important for us to know what a husband should expect of a wife as well as what a wife should expect of a husband. This knowledge will not only improve our relationship with the Lord but it will clarify what is expected of us in our own marriages.

Just as a Wife has Marital Rights, a Christian has Believer Rights

Iit shouldn't be difficult to understand that being "married to God" has its benefits. God has indeed made promises to us. We are not, however, to be demanding of God that we receive what He has promised. We are to be thankful and in awe that He can indeed protect us and deliver us from all adversities that we cannot bear without His help.

All Believers Need to Know the Responsibilities of Being a Wife

Christian marriage has an importance not just to those who are married but to all Christians which in my opinion has nothing to do with ones sexaul prefrence.

I firmly believe that as a Christian, I am called to share my Saviors love and to follow the principles He laid out in the Bible. Because of this, and because my faith is not supportive of the homosexual cause, many people would probably be surprised to hear that I am a proponent of gay marriage; I also find no conflict between my faith and the issue of gay marriage..

Firstly, there is an undeniable separation between church and state. Regardless of a persons personal beliefs regarding a particular issue, separation has to be maintained. If there is a law prohibiting gay marriage, why not a law prohibiting spouses from having affairs with other people? Why not a law prohibiting sex before marriage? These are all moral issues, but laws are not made to enforce morality; they are created for the protection of citizens. They are not created to enforce a particular churchs beliefs; they are created on behalf of the state to both defend rights and guard the population. Therefore, even if someone was convinced that homosexuality was wrong, they would have no right to impose that belief on the entire nation.

I am also concerned that allowing government to decide who a person can marry could have very serious ramifications. Do we truly want so much power in hands of imperfect humans? As a Christian, I readily recognize the fallibility of mankind. We make mistakes every day and no one is exempt.

Given the nature of human beings, does it make sense to give equally flawed men and women in our government the power to decide who can marry whom? I am convinced it would be a disastrous move to allow this kind of power into corruptible humans.

When making difficult decisions, it is always difficult to keep person prejudices aside. However, it is imperative to remain objective despite personal feelings. Because of this, I strongly encourage you, no matter what your political affiliation or religious beliefs, to support gay marriage.

dear folks, marriage was always meant to be between male and female.. man and woman..

the government is only telling you what has been approved of by GOD and the beginning of time.. and that is marriage is to be between a man and a woman and GOD who made them, and made them to become one flesh in marriage..

if we dont hold tight to what is right and allow marriages to be any other way then we approve of homosexual marriages or lesbian marriages..

next thing you know youll be havin to approve of marriages between a man or woman and an animal , beastiality.. both things that are an abomination to the LORD...

if we dont draw the line at who marriage was meant to be for.. then the line will be crossed over and over again and even more far outrageous and more far outrageous. i mean isnt that just saying ok people you can marry who and what you want to..

thats not just cracking the door open for satan but its opening the door wide open for him to work against the sanctity of marriage..

lets not forget the lessons learnt from sodom and gomorrah.. do we want america to suffer as such?

jude 1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

With you cattleman.

The bible specifically spells it out in black and white. What I see today with this whole thing is the world has become so accepting to things we NEVER accepted back in the day. So, Satan is all up in this thing. Right up his alley!

I mean, today we've got people not ashamed, but with pride now "coming out" and we appear to accept it. By acceptance, I mean, we don't stand for what we say we believe in and speak truth to them. Many homosexuals are friends close to us, or family even, so I understand it can be hard to confront, but many times we don't even try. There again, I question us as a body of Christ, to wonder as Christians, how much do we compromise our moral values, for the sake of fame, fortune, political position.

We've got public figures, entertainers, boldly professing their lifestyles, and saying they are Christians speaking from the same word of God we believe in. So to the Christian who is not strong in the word to differentiate lies from truth, accepts their choices. Evene those supposedly strong in the word of God to. We know scripture says there is punishment for them, but I think because we don't see God taking action with them, many think well "it's ok". We slowly are weaving a destructive web that is very dangerous.

For those that we see moving up prominently in high earthly places is just the beginning of Satans tactic. Oh, he's got many. And it's going to get worse. You referenced Jude1:7

Great! There is another passage of scripture too that

talks to the perversion that takes place.. it will become more and more perverse, God will turn them over.

Romans 1:24. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25. For they exhanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever, Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natrual function for that whis is unnatural, 27. and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of th ewoman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. -NASB

Yes, it will get worse, and God will stop this. It's already evidenced disease that's become so prevalent with these choices of behavior. Sorry, got carried away sorta.
