They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not " dom_64 ( the female teddy bugs ) ☹️💯👎 FALSE ❗❗ 🙂💯👍 Now for the TRUTH Jeremiah mocked the idolatry of Judah, especially as it imitated the idolatry of the surrounding nations. Similar passages mocking the idolatry of the heathen are found in Isaiah 40:18-20 and 44:9-20. Yet, it’s difficult to read this description and condemnation of an ancient pagan custom and 👉👉 not immediately think of the custom of the Christmas tree as practiced in the modern Christian world ii. based on a passage like this a Christian would be convinced that they should not have a Christmas tree or even celebrate Christmas, then they should stand in that conviction. It is good to remember what Paul wrote: whatever is not from faith is sin (Romans 14:23). iii. Nevertheless, there are many reasons to believe that despite some similarities, the differences are even greater and 👉👉 do not prohibit the modern custom of the Christmas tree. · Jeremiah spoke regarding the customs of the Gentiles, and in the modern world 👉👉 the appropriate celebration of Christmas is an expression of belief in God and His Son, not a custom of unbelievers · Jeremiah spoke of believers borrowing customs of unbelievers; in the modern world, when an unbeliever has a Christmas tree 👉👉 it is a case of unbelievers borrowing the customs of believers · Jeremiah spoke of a tree regarded as an idol, and (properly understood) the modern Christmas tree is 👉👉 🚫 NOT an idol. If for a family it is or becomes an idol, it should be discarded with. · Jeremiah spoke to a time in history when trees were often directly connected with idolatry, either literal trees or their representations (Jeremiah 2:27) Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition as we now know it in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes 🤔🤔🤪🤪 does anybody know of anybody that's bowed down to a Christmas tree thereby committing idolatry ❓❓ of course not that's just plain SILLY 🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🙂😉 trying to use Jeremiah 10 as a pro theological argument to denounce Christmas trees as pagan practices makes as about as much sense as the Quakers who don't use electricity because they think in some way shape or form that modern technology is evil 💡🙈🙉🙊 🙂🙂 a lot of us love quaker oats for breakfast in the morning 🥣 and the good old electric powered microwave helps us do it and likewise with our Christmas trees that help us appreciate the birth of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ this time of year -- I'm sure most of you will agree 🙂💯👍 Post Reply

The most prevalent form of idolatry in Bible times was the worship of images that were thought to embody the various pagan deities. Post Reply

Christmas is carnal, earthly, and devilish. I have no scripture in my bible Jesus celebrating his birthday, the only time we read Jesus talking about his birth was talking to Piliate in John 18:37 that he was born to die. Is it of God do you have a scripture of how and when and what to do to celebrate the birth? Nope, Christmess pies, cakes, tree etc. It is of the devil it is not of God we have no scriptures, it is adding to the scriptures. I am into the death nothing in the birth for anybody except a strong delusion to believe a lie to be sent to hell with. Christmess is a doctrine of devils and seducing spirits curtisy of the Pope in Rome. Col 2:8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. John 18:37] Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. God killed all the nations around Isreal in the old testament and told the Israelites they are loved because they were few, nobody else had the traditions like the Isrealites had. The bible says we are a peculiar people in Christ in 1st Peter 2:9. How peculiar ate you with a tree and booze and food in your house? Not very peculiar. The whole world does the same thing. How are you different from the devil's crowd when you ate following and holding hands at the same table going to the same riot of excess? Not at all. 1st Peter 2:[9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:10] Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Mary's Jesus is dead and buried end of story we know him no more after thr flesh 2nd Cor 5:16-17. The one born of God who arose from the dead is the Jesus mankind needs and not the one born Of Mary in Bethlehem. By faith Jesus is in me through his words Col 1:27. Jesus sitting by the righthand power of God will only be a dead thing unless he is in you. When God looks at me he sees his Son as Christ is in me the hope of glory. I do not hope to male heaven or have a hope in Christ like most Christians do. I possess that hope, I know I am going to make the new earth and heaven. Mankind have a hope and it will never work and are miserable; they need lights, gifts trees, food, booze, stories etc and it will never be enough. The born again Jesus, no blood, full of holes, a dead man walking a new creation born of God is the one mankind is in need of. The 25th of December does not change or heal man it is the birthday of a lie and not the truth. 1st Cor 2:2] For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. The Jesus born of Mary is dead 2nd Cor 5:16-17. Jesus was dead the one born of Mary and he became alive how? By the spirit of God his Father old things are passed away and all things become new. Acts 13:29] And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. --》 old Jesus [30] But God raised him from the dead: [31] And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.--》New Jesus born again of the spirit Romans 8:11] But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
