It was written for our sake, because the plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of sharing in the crop.” -1 Cor. 9:10 In commenting on this passage, Calvin wrote, “It is an unjust thing that the husbandman should lay out his pains to no purpose in plowing and thrashing, but that the end of his labour is the hope of receiving the fruits. As it is so, we may infer that this belongs to oxen also, but Paul’s intention was to extend it farther, and apply it principally to men. Now, the husbandman is said to be a partaker of his hope when he enjoys the produce which he has obtained when reaping, but hoped for when plowing.” Clearly, a man ought to enjoy the fruit of his labor. A man ought to taste that object of his hope by which he derived the strength to labor. The Law of God states this plainly in Deuteronomy 20:5-7. A man plows in hope. A man buys a field in hope. A man takes a wife in hope, and it is good and right that the the man should enjoy the object of his hope. He should not be prevented from doing so. A man labors in the hope of a consummation of his labor. Jesus says we must not fear the world, for He has overcome it. He says all authority in heaven and earth are His. Therefore, we go forth on the Great Commission mission. That is that hope under which we labor, that Jesus has overcome the world! Post Reply

So its YOU that 'turns the Bible into a book(s) of contradictions' all because of your misunderstanding of CONTEXT of the entire Bible on the subject! I have told you and told you to read the books but all you do is slobber on the covers junior! BUTTTT then shockingly David posts this! - David writes - 'RSVP and me teach that we still have a sin nature that must be controlled by prayer and denied daily until the day we die physically." Of course we still have a sinful nature of CHOICE! AMEN David, NOW we are getting somewhere in POWER TRUTH thru prayer DAILY and DYING to self daily in order to CONTINUE to be 'saved" daily as free will creatures, and yes until death do us part, much like human marriage! There must be two David's, one a bone headed globe headed believer, spinning, tilting and wobbling and the other one level upright David, truly saved by grace (POWER FROM ABOVE) thru FAITH and THEN GOES onto WORKS PROVING his FAITH! Yes he has admitted to have sinned IN THE PAST, BUT NOW He says he no longer sins once he “became a Christian”.
