Having been in many churchs in my life, and heard teachings on who they think Yeshua (Jesus) is, not once has this chapter been taken into account WHY?
After all it is in this chapter, that we find Yeshua, and HaShem, (God) are one and the same. Should we true follows not seek to understand the one we say we follow? Is not a part of truly understanding, and loving the one we follow knowing who they are?
I have heard the Father Son and Holy Spirit teaching many times. Yet when asked, "Is not the Spirit of HaShem HaShem?" the answers never seem to fit.
I will leave you something to think on before anyone post a reply.
If we teach that every word in the Bible is true, yet wish to hold that HaShem and Yeshua are not the same, how can we say that John chapter 1 holds truth?
CountryIvy you are right. I have questioned this topic in my life. I also study everything I am told, and seek the truth of it. A wise man once told me, "Never seek out a lie, seek the truth. In doing so, the lies will present themselves." I have found that be true when studying the Word, and it has lead me to things that I thought I know, only to find that I had been wrong for years.
I thank HaShem daily that for His clarity of mind, and power to lead us to truth.
1 “Hear this, O priests! Take heed, O house of Israel!
Give ear, O royal house! For this judgment is against you because you have been a snare at Mizpah, a net spread out on Tabor.
2 The rebels are deep in slaughter; but I will chastise them all.
3 I know all about Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me. For now, O Ephraim, you have turned to prostitution; Israel is defiled.
4 Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God, for a spirit of prostitution is within them, and they do not know the LORD.
5 Israel’s arrogance testifies against them; Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; even Judah stumbles with them.
They go with their flocks and herds to seek the LORD,
but they do not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.
7 They have been unfaithful to the LORD; for they have borne illegitimate children.
Now the New Moon will devour them along with their land.
8 Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in
Ramah; raise the battle cry in Beth-aven:
Lead on, O Benjamin!
9 Ephraim will be laid waste on the day of rebuke.
Among the tribes of Israel I proclaim what is certain.
10 The princes of Judah are like those who move boundary stones; I will pour out My fury upon them like water.
11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, for he is determined to follow worthless idols.
12 So I am like a moth to Ephraim, and like decay to the house of Judah.
13 When Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah his wound, then Ephraim turned to Assyria and sent to the great king. But he cannot cure you or heal your wound.
14 For I am like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear them to pieces and then go away. I will carry them off where no one can rescue them.
15 Then I will return to My place until they admit their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.”
In this section of Scripture we have GOD Almighty talking to the priests and the people about judgement.
Verse 15 GOD Almighty says that He will RETURN to His place; in order for a person to return somewhere, then they must have also left that place to go somewhere else.
We know that HaShem came to this earth in a human body, Be hard to place Him on a cross, and have His life end if He remained in His true form.
As we know HaShem can o anything He wishes, be it take on Human form, (as can be seen in many places in the Torah, as well the Writings. That said, When we hear in Mat, This is my son.... It should be understood that the physical body is human, and there for is the son. Yet we also see that the Spirit of HaShem came down and filled that Body. HaShem had done nothing more than form a body in which to walk among His creation.
In prayer, the physical mind of the human, is weak. As we all are. It didn't wish to enter death, and was a bit scared.
On the cross, we know that Death is the price of sin. It is there for a thing that HaShem, both by His holiness and Law, is forbidden to touch. When the physical body felt HaShem leave it, he cried out. Thinking that his life, and reason for being had been a scam, if you will. Once more we must keep in mind the man kind is weak, and Satan can work within the weakness. It may not lead to sin, though it may lead one to question.
If the use of sound SCRIPTURE isn't enough for you, then I nothing ever will be.
As for others trying to show me I am wrong, that has came about yes. The thing is, like your self, they can never recessional their ideas with scripture. Just as you have failed to do.
Also like your self, they seem to always seek a way to deflect the topic, and turn it to what amounts to trash talk. If you don't have sound Biblical teaching to back your stand, then just say so.
Ok, I don’t know what you mean by “trash talk”. If you think differing opinions are mere “trash talk”. If you’re starting out with name calling, where’s the discussion??
Why don’t you start by clearly arguing your strongest point and we’ll work our way through
1 When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You.
2 For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him.
3 Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.
4 I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do.
5 And now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world existed.
56, You actually believe Messiah is talking to himself when He says FATHER glorify your Son, would this not make you god schizophrenic, or a bit delusional.
