Lots of silly people (atheists) teach and write textbooks claiming that “the church” or that all Christianity believed in a flat earth. But this false theory lacks historic evidence. It’s true a few pockets of Christians believed in a flat earth just like gullible Christians today believe evolution old earth doctrine and death before the sin of Adam, but that doesn’t prove that all Christians were equally deceived.

Consider this:
Genesis says that HE placed the sun , moon and stars INSIDE the firmament which are waters above and below........so can we agree that this celestial group is placed between the firmament?
Now, go outside and tell me if you SEE with your own eyes that what Yahuwah says is true. Can we take what He said in Genesis as literal? His creation points to Him the Creator , does it not? Why would any of that be figurative.?
When He is talking to Job, is it literal when he asks him direct questions in chapter 38?
"..Who is this that darkens my council? Now prepare yourself like a man;
I will question you, and you shall answer Me.."Where was you when I laid the foundation of the earth"

But if we take this literally , it might lead one to sun worship. Figurative speech is clear from the context and verse . I do agree that there are rules for interpretation. We don't literally pluck out offending eyes, etc.

Isaiah Says that the Earth is **CIRCULAR**
Isaiah was inspired by God to say in Isaiah 40:21-22:
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? He sits enthroned above the **CIRCLE OF THE EARTH**, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy!!
So Isaiah clearly calls the Earth a “circle.” This clearly shows that he had a round idea of the Earth. This is interesting for a couple of reasons:
1.First of all, he says God sits above the **CIRCLE OF THE EARTH**. Circle can mean “spherical, round, etc.” So he is clearly calling it something **ROUND**.
2.Secondly, this blows away the arguments by the skeptics that the Prophets thought the Earth has “corners.” Hint: A circle doesn’t have a corner. Therefore, why would a man well versed in the scriptures of God call the Earth a circle if he believed it to be a flat cornered piece of land? He wouldn’t! So obviously he believed the **EARTH WAS CIRCULAR** in nature.
Isaiah oddly uses the term **CIRCLE**, and it is odd that anyone would describe the earth that way unless they actually supposed it was **CIRCULAR** in nature.
There have been thousands of pictures of the earth from outer space and every picture shows a **CIRCULAR ROUND EARTH**!!
Every intelligent person knows that you travel **WEST** by plane from New York City to New Delhi India with a stop over in Tokyo and you can **ALSO** travel **EAST** by plane from New York City to New Delhi India with a stop over in Tel Aviv Israel.! This of course would be impossible if the earth was flat and only possible if the **EARTH WAS CIRCULAR**!!

No, no, no, my dear lady.
You embrace a flat earth belief system that is not supported biblically. Biblical doctrine isn’t based on figures of speech.
No church has doctrinal statements that declare Jesus is a four legged woolly lamb who needs to be sheared every year.
Since there’s no flat earth in the Bible, you must pull out passages and assign them accordingly. This screams eisegesis!!
In fact, to “prove” your world is flat, you must read into figurative language to make your case.
Figures of speech are literary devices not always intended to be taken literally. Yes, they’re colorful and delightful but you can’t go around telling people your Jesus is really a delightful four four legged lamb who playfully hops around.
I always wonder why all hyper-literalists like flat earthers still have 2 hands!! After all, Jesus clearly and literally says you’re supposed to cut off your hand and he says you’re supposed to hate father, mother and everyone else and even hate your own self.

Consider my earlier question. Scientist SAY that the sun is 92. 96 million miles away and the moon is 238,900 miles away. The age of the moon says 4.53 billion years

What if YOU read into the scriptures concerning how far away the sun is . You do believe in science , don't you Dave? That there is an outer space with an ever expanding universe and planets in our solar system? So what you believe is read into the text, ( your favorite word, exegesis) so how could you even see/interpret a flat earth while reading the scriptures when you already know in your belief that the world is round as Buddah's belly as science and NASA suggest?
