The NASB is widely regarded as the most literally translated of 20th century bible translations. It is a revision of the ASV of 1901. of which The Amplified Bible (published by the Lockman Foundation) is based on the American Standard Version of that same year. This translation was a alternative of the RSV, itself a revision of the ASV. Still with me? What a brain twister.The Hebrew text used for this translation was the Kittel Biblia Herbraica and the dead sea scrolls.The ben Asher text was adopted by Kittel for his third edition of Biblia Hebraica in 1937. The Ben Asher uses the Leningrad Manuscript or codex. The codex was copied in Cairo from manuscripts written by Aaron ben Moses ben Asher. It has been claimed to be a product of the Asher scriptorium itself; however, there is no evidence that Asher ever saw it. In its vocalization system (vowel points and cantillation) it is considered by scholars to be the most faithful representative of ben Asher's tradition apart from the Aleppo Codex (edited by ben Asher himself). Its letter-text is not superb, however, and contradicts it's own masoretic apparatus in many hundreds of places. The Biblia Herbraica was consulted for the 1995 revision. For Greek, Eberhard Nestle's Novum Testamentum Graece was used. The 23rd edition of the 1971 original and the 26th in the 1995 revision. From Nestle Allands website: Nestle took the three leading scholarly editions of the Greek New Testament at that time by Tischendorf, Westcott/Hort and Weymouth as a basis. (After 1901 he replaced the latter with Bernhard Weiss 1894/1900 edition.) Where their textual decisions differed from each other Nestle chose for his own text the variant which was preferred by two of the editions included, while the variant of the third was put into the apparatus.
Rudolph Kittels Biblia Hebraica, the Greek text of Westcott and Hort, and the 23rd edition of the Nestle Greek New Testament as well as the best Hebrew and Greek lexicons available at the time.Cognate languages,Tischendorf. the Dead Sea Scrolls, and other Greek works were also consulted.as you can see it is a soupy mix. Note how prominently the ESV acknowledges this text in its introduction:
The ESV is based on the Masoretic text of the Hebrew Bible as found in Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (2nd ed., 1983), and on the Greek text in the 1993 editions of the Greek New Testament (4th corrected ed.), published by the United Bible Societies (UBS), and Novum Testamentum Graece (27th ed.), edited by Nestle and Aland. The currently renewed respect among Old Testament scholars for the Masoretic text is reflected in the ESV’s attempt, wherever possible, to translate difficult Hebrew passages as they stand in the Masoretic text rather than resorting to emendations or to finding an alternative reading in the ancient versions. In exceptional, difficult cases, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Septuagint, the Samaritan Pentateuch, the Syriac Peshitta, the Latin Vulgate, and other sources were consulted to shed possible light on the text, or, if necessary, to support a divergence from the Masoretic text.
Who are Westcott and Hort? After their deaths , their Sons published their personal letters which are still available on Amazon. They were evolutionists, did not believe Jesus was equal with God, they believed that man is divine, no bodily resurrection of Jesus, Heaven was just a state and not a place, that scripture is not inspired and therefore not infallable just to name a few.
It is no surprise that although both men were liberal anglican bishops, they hid their secret unitarian views because only members of the church of England could be college professors or hold a government job. This was revealed with the publication of their private letters. As we proceed you will notice that the modern bibles do not exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.
The KJV onlyism movement just points out the corruption of the modern bibles , they are not responsible for people's unbelief, this is due to the corrupt translations. Even some textual critics themselves have lost their faith, like Bart Ehrman who now writes books about the bible in an effort to make other people become agnostic like him. What about Kittel? Rudolph Kittel's son Gerhard was a theologian to Hitler. Gerhard Kittel, eliminated mention of the special role of the Jewish people.To update it he oversaw changes to words such as “Messiah” and “hallelujah”, and renamed “Jerusalem” as the ‘eternal city of God’. ‘Honour your Fuhrer and master’ and ‘keep your blood pure and your honour holy’ were added to the 10 commandments.
Importantly, during the 1930s both Kittels are said to have hailed Hitler’s rise to power as “a blessing from God”. Both became highly influential in intellectual circles in Germany. In fact, the younger Kittel became Hitler’s “high priest” of religious propaganda, providing the “theological basis” for resolving the “Jewish question”. Robert P. Ericksen, author of Theologians Under Hitler (New Haven, Yale University Press 1985 pp 45, 207, 86-88), who received the 1987 Merit of Distinction Award from the International Centre for Holocaust Studies for this work, wrote that Gerhard Kittel’s writings between 1937 and 1945 were highly instrumental in causing the death of millions of Jews in Germany and the territories it conquered in the Second World War. 'He established a solid ‘Christian’ foundation for opposition to the Jews’. Kittel also proclaimed himself “the first authority in Germany on the scientific consideration of the Jewish question”. Ericksen records: Kittel and a group of twelve leading theologians and pastors issued a proclamation that Nazism is ‘a call of God’ and they thanked Adolf Hitler
As we progress, you will see by a careful comparison of scriptures that there are some changes and omissions that should be considered as you weigh this matter of what bible to choose to use for study.
I think many if not all readers of your posts are beginning to observe how you falsely equate the venerable KJV Bible with the cult of KJVonlyism
End quote
I am NOT KJV- only. I AM TEXTUS RECEPTUS ONLY! I prefer the AKJV because to me , it is a >>>CULMINATION<<< of the other bibles printed before it and has a poetic cadence. It has been refined through the centuries . Culmination means : The highest or climactic point of something, especially as attained after a long time.
So you need to change your "cult KJV-onlyism" logic to TR-onlyism. GET IT RIGHT BRO! Enough with this repeated "cult" rhetoric. You are starting to be like Parrot which is quite rebarbative, You are certainly stuck in a groove with your cognitive deductive reasoning. Parrot Dr. White over and over, again and again. Open your beak and I will throw in some little round soup crackers. If your lucky , I may give you some "BBQ chicken bits" Like Prophetic does his parrots.
It’s interesting that in your lengthy posts consisting of multiple quotes of irrelevance, you never quote a KJVonly—KJV Bible translator!!! That’s because there are >>NO<< KJVonly KJV translators!!!
Knowledge that the KJVonly cult is a recent development continues to escape you.
End quote
I don't look for any either.
A quote from the 1611 Authorized Version. Translators to the Readers : "As the Egyptians are said of the Prophet to be men and not God, and their horses flesh and not spirit; so it is evident, (and Saint Jerome affirmeth as much) that the Seventy were Interpreters, they were not Prophets; they did many things well, as learned men; but yet as men they stumbled and fell, one while through oversight, another while through ignorance, yea, sometimes they may be noted to add to the Original, and sometimes to take from it; which made the Apostles to leave them many times, when they left the Hebrew, and to deliver the sense thereof according to the truth of the word, as the spirit gave them utterance."
They describe and then forswear the fact that some people had exalted a translation to the level of inspired revelation above the original language, rejecting the view of those who treated translators like prophets giving the final and enduring word. The translation should, on the one hand, be honored as truly and fully the word of God while, on the other hand, open to correction or improvement through consulting the manuscripts in the original languages.
So who are the KJV translator/s who are KJVONLY again please, sorry, I couldn’t hear you
End quote
There are Textus Receptus translators. Never heard of KJV- only translators and why I use other Textus Receptus bibles! I told you I do not belong to a "cult". I am my own person. I don't piggy back on some new movement just to have an excuse to bash someone or look holier than thou. Can you handle the truth David? Can you set aside some time to carefully examine---with a fresh , open mindset what I have presented for you here. I will gladly do the same with any evidence you exhibit on the forum.
What I have given is pro bono . All free for the common good of humanity my friend, to discover for yourself.

Now let's see what the NESTLE-ALAND said in their book:
In the 27th editon of the Nestle-Alland which the modern version use( Yes, even the NKJV is corrupt now) , page 45, it states and I quote VERBATIM: "The texts by these two editIons was adopted internationally by >>>>Bible Societies<<<<, and following an agreement between the >>>>VATICAN AND THE UNITED BIBLE SOCIETIES<<<< it has served as the basis FOR NEW TRANSLATIONS and for>>>> REVISIONS MADE UNDER THEIR SUPERVISION<<<<"
Ridiculous quote by KJVonly who also believes in the **FLAT EARTH**:
"The one true God has **ONE TRUE BOOK** {KJVonly}
There are certainly some errors in all of the translations of God's Word in the Koine Greek which is inspired by God. By far the **WORST EXANPLE** is: After Mark 16:8 all of the major translations **EXCEPT THE KING JAMES VERSION** have a footnote which reads: "The earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20."
And Mark 16:16-18: Wrongly states: "Whoever believes and is **BAPTIZED WILL BE SAVED** .... And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands, and they will **DRINK DEADLY POISON, it will not hurt them at all; they will **PLACE THEIR HANDS** on sick people, and they will get well??"
By comparing other Scripture with these mistakes we know that Baptismal Regeneration is wrong and even in the early church not every saint spoke in other languages. and there is not one other Scripture that tells us to **DRINK DEADLY POISON** and to **PICK UP SNAKES** some of which are deadly. There is also a Scripture which contradicts **PLACING HANDS ON SICK PEOPLE WILL MAKE THEM WELL** in James 5:14,15!
However if you believe the KJV version is infallible you must then also believe that all of the above Satanic Heresies are also the inspired **WORDS OF GOD**!!
Of course those denominations which believe in Baptismal Regeneration and many Charismatic churches believe these verses are the inspired words of God thus agreeing with the KJV version???
And so the KJV version is the only version that implies that the **EXTEMELY SATANIC** Mark 16:16-18 are the inspired Words of God. The KJV version is also written in 16th Century English which is very hard for 20th Century Christians to understand.
The origin of the term **EASTER** for the feast of Christ’s Resurrection has been popularly considered to be from the Anglo-Saxon **EASTRE**, a goddess of spring and the evil Queen of Heaven. {Read Jeremiah 44:22-25 about the very evil **QUEEN OF HEAVEN**}
The KJV version is the only version that translates the Greek word **PASCHA** as **EASTER** in Acts 12:4 and all other major translations correctly translate the Greek word **PASCHA** as **PASSOVER**!! {Read Jeremiah 44::22-25 about the extremely evil **QUEEN OF HEAVEN**}
"The earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20." Which the KJV version claims is the inspired Word of God???
The KJV defenders also quote Colossians 1:14 which includes the blood of Christ in the KJV version and in all the other major translations the blood of Christ is not mentioned in Colossians 1:14. However the KJV version includes many verses which are not used in the most ancient manuscripts and which are rightfully not accepted by all the other major translations. And the KJV had some very liberal Episcopal translators!
However, the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins is mentioned many times in the earliest Greek manuscripts in very easy to understand 20th Century English translations, such as:
Matthew 26:28: Jesus says, "This is **MY BLOOD** of the covenant, which is poured out for many **FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS**!"
Hebrews 9:12: He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by **HIS OWN BLOOD**, having obtained **ETERNAL REDEMPTION**!
Hebrews 9:22; 26-28: The law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with **BLOOD**, and without the shedding of **BLOOD** **THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS**.... But now He has appeared **ONCE FOR ALL** at the end of the ages to do away with sin **BY THE SACRIFICE OF HIMSELF**!! Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, and Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people, and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him!!
Ephesians 2:13: But now in Christ Jesus you who were once were far away have been brought near **THROUGH THE BLOOD OF CHRIST**!!
Romans 3:21-25: But now a righteousness from God, **APART FROM THE LAW**, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes **THROUGH FAITH** in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by **HIS GRACE** through the **REDEMPTION** that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Him as a **SACRIFICE OF ATONEMENT**, **THROUGH FAITH IN HIS BLOOD**!!
Colossians 1:15-20: He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the **HEAD OF HIS BODY, THE CHURCH**; He is the beginning and the firstborn from the dead, so that is **EVERYTHING HE MIGHT HAVE THE SUPREMACY**. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things **ON EARTH** or things in heaven, by making peace **THROUGH HIS BLOOD**, shed on the cross!!
Ephesians 1:3-8; 11: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with **EVERY** spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and **BLAMELESS** in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will--to the praise of His **GLORIOUS GRACE**, which He has freely given us in the One He loves. In Him we have **REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD**, **THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS**, in accordance the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding!!
I Peter 1:18,19: For you know that was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were **REDEEMED** from the empty way of life handed down to you by your forefathers, but with the **PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST**, Lamb without blemish or defect!!
Revelation 1:4,5: Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful Witness... To Him who loves us and freed us from our sins **BY HIS BLOOD**!!
NOTE: Jesus Christ our Savior is called the **LAMB** of God **30 TIMES** in the book of Revelation because He did away with all lamb sacrifices for sin by the sacrifice of Himself!!
Revelation 5:6,9: Then I saw a **LAMB**, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne...You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because You were slain, and **WITH YOUR BLOOD** You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation!!
Revelation 12:11: They overcame him by the **BLOOD OF THE LAMB** and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death!!
Revelation 7:14: These are they who have come out of the Great Tribulation, they have was their robes and made them white in the **BLOOD OF THE LAMB**!!
Romans 5:6-10: You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless. Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us. Since we are now justified **BY HIS BLOOD**, how much more will we be saved from God's wrath through Him! When we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him **THROUGH THE DEATH OF HIS SON**!!
Little David: I think your posts would be a lot more powerful and inspired if you quoted the Word of God!
**DOES GOD'S WORD SAY THAT *ADDING** OR **TAKING WORDS** AWAY FROM GOD'S WORD IS A SIN**??
Deuteronomy 18:17-19: The Lord said to Moses, "I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among your fellow Israelites, and I will put My words in His mouth. He will tell them **EVERYTHING** I command Him. I Myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to My words that the Prophet speaks in My name!!"
John 14:21-24: Jesus says, "Whoever has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me... Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching, My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make Our home with them.. Anyone who does not love Me will not obey My teaching. These words you hear are not My own; they belong to the Father who sent Me!" {See Deut 18:17-19 above}
Acts 5:32: We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given **TO THOSE WHO OBEY HIM**!"
Luke 6:46-49: Jesus says, "As for everyone who comes to Me and hears **MY WORDS** and **PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE**. I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid foundation on rock. When the flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears **MY WORDS** and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete!"
I Peter 1:23-25: You have been **BORN AGAIN THROUGH THE LIVING AND ENDURING **WORD OF GOD**!! All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field, the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the **WORD OF THE LORD STANDS FOREVER**. And this is the **WORD** that was preached to you.
Matthew 24:35: Jesus says, Heaven and earth will pass away, but **MY WORDS WILL NEVER PASS AWAY**!"
I John 2:3-5: We know we have come to know Him {Jesus} if we obey His commands. The man who says, "I know Him," but does not do what He commands is a liar and the truth is not in him. But if anyone **OBEYS HIS WORD**, God's love is truly made complete in him!
Matthew 4:4: Jesus says, "Man does not live on bread alone, but on **EVERY WORD FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD**!"
Luke 8:15: Jesus says, "But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the **WORD**, retain it, and by perseverance produce a crop."
John 17:17: Jesus prays to His Father, "Sanctify them by the Truth, **YOUR WORD IS TRUTH**!"
Acts 20:32: Paul says, "Now I commit you to God and to the **WORD OF HIS GRACE**, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified!"

James 1:18; He chose to give us **BIRTH THROUGH THE WORD** of Truth!!
I Corinthians 15:2: By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the **WORD** preached to you. Otherwise you have believed in vain!
2 Corinthians 4:2: We do not use deception, nor do we distort the **WORD OF GOD**!
Ephesians 1:13: You also were included in Christ **WHEN** you heard the **WORD** of Truth, the gospel of your salvation.
Ephesians 2:17: Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the **WORD OF GOD**!
Colossians 1:25: I have become its servant by the commission God gave to me to present to you the **WORD OF GOD IN ALL ITS FULLNESS**!
Colossians 3:16: Let the **WORD OF CHRIST** dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom!
I Thessalonians 2:13: We thank God continually because, when you received the **WORD OF GOD**, which you heard from us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the **WORD OF GOD**!
Acts 17:11,12: Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and **EXAMINED THE SCRIPTURES EVERY DAY**... As a result many of them believed!!
Psalm 118:147,148: I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in **YOUR WORD**! My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I might meditate on **YOUR PROMISES**!!
2 Timothy 2:15: Do your best to present yourselves to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who **CORRECTLY HANDLES THE WORD ** of truth!
2 Timothy 3:15,16: 4:1,2: You have known the **HOLY SCRIPTURES**, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. **ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD-BREATHED** and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom, I give you this charge: **PREACH THE WORD**!! {**WHICH IS THE ENTIRE NEW COVENANT AND NEW TESTAMENT**!!}
**DOES GOD"S WORD SAY THAT **ADDING** OR **TAKING WORD'S AWAY** FROM GOD's WORD IS AN UMPARDONABLE SIN**??
Revelation 22:16,18,19: "I, Jesus. have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the Churches.... I warn everyone who hears the **WORDS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK**: If anyone **ADDS** {Like the RC popes} anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this Book {Including **ETERNAL HELL**} And if anyone **TAKES WORDS AWAY** {Like the RC popes} from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the Tree of Life and in the Holy City {The New Jerusalem}, which are described in this book."
THE GREAT COMMISSION: Matthew 28:18-20: Jesus says, “All authority in heaven and on ***EARTH*** has been given to Me {Not some RC Pope}. Therefore go and make disciples of *ALL NATIONS*...teaching them to **OBEY EVERYTHING** I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very *END OF THE AGE*!
"Little David: I think your posts would be a lot more powerful and inspired if you quoted the Word of God!"
end quote
Richard I think your posts would be a lot more powerful if you would stay on topic of the thread! Ha!
Your posts COULD be "inspirational" to the degree of posting actual evidence of the "some errors" in translations that you speak of! No I'm not talking about your misunderstanding of verses, your twisting of them, taking them out of context but actual mistakes compared with other places in the Bible on the subject or to that of other Bible translations.
Show missing verses, punctuation problems that change the meaning of contextual doctrine etc. Really we should be getting back to the heart of this thread and show WHAT OLD and MODERN translations DO to exalt the Son of YHWH!
KJO and David could do the same, instead of attacking sources, persons or motives.
