Looking at Genesis 1:3-5, notice that it only mentions a literal singular light! This is HUGE in importance for later.
Zechlup claims 1:3-5 is not talking about the obvious sun and its light when he states - "The Text doesn't say God made the sun on day one. While it is an admittedly common mistake to conflate "light" with "sun" it is not what the Text says." Lol! He goes on to state in his "educated" wisdom - "This is called "reading into the Text"." That is hilarious reasoning of the subject in question and really just a cop out in not answering WHAT the text is actually saying! Lol!
Lets look at the Strongs.
Sun - Hebrew "shemish" #8121, brilliant - Sun. DUH!
Light - Hebrew "ma'or" #3974, luminous body, luminary. Sun would be a luminary! Double DUH!!

So friends, since Zechlup does not have a clue what is being stated in Genesis 1:3-5, can I get an actual reasonable discussion from someone else as to the literial "light" that is being described in those verses?
But FIRST we can actually learn a lot from an atheist! This challenge from the atheist will actually answer (teach us) what is stated in Genesis 1:3-5 and to that of Genesis 1:14-16! I was reading John the other day as it's my favorite book . I remembered John speaking about the light and I just posted this week on how Jesus is a light unto our path, speaking about the New Jerusalem and how there wouldn't be need of sunlight . God is always glorified and everything points to him. I had to think about that.
John 1:4–5 says, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it
Parallel passage:2 Corinthians 4: 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
So God was foretelling spiritual things to come
It is about spiritual truth invading our dark minds!
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

I can second that, John's writings is my favorite gospel book. LOVE the metaphors you post, that Yahweh thru Yah'shua is our LIGHTED path to His righteousness! We then claim His righteousness and go forward by FAITH to do His good works. LOVE also your Biblical examples of the FAITH of Noah, Abel and Enoch! So true. So you are right in pointing out our PRIMARY spiritual truths of FAITH toward Yahweh thru Yah'shua as our Spiritual LIGHT and life giver is our PRIMARY focus.
To me its glove (FAITH) and hand (works) in that order. How can I keep from damaging, blistering my hand (proven works) if I don't protect it with my glove (of FAITH) in what I do throughout each Yom Day!
But what of the secondary LITERAL application of His Creation clocks that He made for a "seasonal" purpose, His mo'eds? These would be LITERAL "lights" yet not His Primary Spiritual LIGHT he gives to those who seek Him by FAITH. Right?
So, YES there is a relationship or "ties" about spiritual truths (but "dark minds" only comes about by non study) to that of literal "creation clock lights" made for a "seasonal" purpose, His mo'eds!

Solution to your statements above Zechlup is a - "Thermometer Digital Laser Surface Temperature Gun" and you either need to own one or borrow one? If so then there are still waning, somewhat full moons tonight and will be several yet to some degree for nights (late now) coming if its clear where your at in your location. Do the test when moon is out and shining on concrete or some kind of solid surface where there is partial shade of the moon light like a tree or building shade. Check temp in direct moon light and then in the shade and tell us what the difference in temp is between the two different locations.
Are you ever going to do this test PERSONALLY like I did and post the results? I'm not here to explain it all to you like a class teacher because I'm really a field teacher on this subject! Actually I'm a witness!

I noticed last night some of the lights were going out on the right side of the moon.
I was thinking since it's an enclosed system you could take a couple boxes of light bulbs, fly up there in a ballon and change out the bad ones for us.
Of course I could have this all wrong. Maybe the moon is made with fluorescent glowing cheese. If that's the case I won't expect you to be coming back because I smell a big fat rat.
MY THIRD request NOW is that you do the field test for yourself! I could give you the Scripture but you would discount it all because of Bible translations, tools like Bible dictionaries/concordances and basically your SELF (inflicted) study ways and jesuit doctrinal schooled education!
The "food" I have served to you on the FLAT plate so far is NOT "mumbo jumbo" but real truth "nourishment" for you to discover by field experimentation!
