Feasts of the LORD and the Blood Moons
What are these strange holidays that the Hebrew/Jewish people celebrate? Do you know that God instituted them? We read in the Gospels that Jesus was crucified on the Passover, But what is the Passover? Is there any significance to the fact that Jesus died on Passover? What about the other Hebrew/Jewish Feasts?
They are �The Feasts of the LORD�. They are not Jewish Feasts as most have been told or taught. They are God�s Feasts and are Created and Instituted by God for His specific purpose. They are Appointments (moed) set to meet with GOD. They are also called Holy Convocations. Holy Days�not holidays.
As Christians we don�t pay much if any attention to these �Appointments�. However I�ve learned they are very Important to Our LORD Jesus because�well...He is GOD and All is Created by HIM for HIS Glory and Purpose�to learn of HIM is to learn about HIM and HIS ways�I realize it is not every bodies �Cup of Tea� and I am NOT trying to convert or sway or teach for that matter�I only share because it is in my heart to do so�this is what I have learned�
1~ Passover or Pesach ~ points to the Messiah as our Passover Lamb whose blood is shed for our sins. Yahshua (Jesus) was crucified on the day of preparation for the Passover, at the same time that the lambs were being slaughtered for the Passover meal that evening. On the 3rd hour of the day the Priests were binding the Lamb to the Sacrificial Alter Jesus was being bound to the Cross.
Crucified !
2~ Unleavened Bread ~ points to the Messiah's sinless life, making Him the Perfect Sacrifice for our sins. Yahshua ~ Jesus body was in the grave during the first days of this Feast, like a kernel of wheat planted and waiting to burst forth as the bread of life.
Buried !
3~ First Fruits ~ points to the Messiah's resurrection as the first fruits of the righteous. Yahshua (Jesus) was resurrected on this very day, which is one of the reasons that Paul refers to him in 1 Corinthians 15:20 as the "first fruits from the dead."
Rose from the dead !
4~ Harvest ~ Shavuot or Pentecost ~ points to the great harvest of souls, both Jew and Gentile that would come into the kingdom of God during the Church Age. The Church was actually established on this day when the Messiah poured out the Holy Spirit and 3,000 souls responded to Peter's first proclamation of the Gospel.
Poured out His �HOLY� Spirit !
The long interval of three months between Harvest and Trumpets pointed to the current Church Age, a period of time that was kept as a mystery to the Hebrew prophets in Old Testament times.
All of these Spring Feasts are Historically Fulfilled by Jesus in His 1st coming. That leaves us with the last 3 (Fall) Feasts which are YET to be Fulfilled in the life and work of the Messiah.
Because Yahshua (Jesus) Literally Fulfilled the First Four Feasts and did so on the Actual Feast Days, it is reasonable to surmise that the last 3 will also be fulfilled on the Actual Feast Days. We cannot be certain how they will be fulfilled. We can speculate that they most likely have the following Prophetic Implications�
5~ Rosh Hashanah ~ Trumpets ~ points to the Rapture when the Messiah will appear in the heavens as a Bridegroom coming for His bride, the Church. The Rapture is always associated in Scripture with the blowing of a loud trumpet. (1 Thes 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15:52)
6~ Yom Kippur ~ Atonement ~ points to the day of the Second Coming of Messiah when He will return to earth. That will be the Day of Atonement for the Hebrew/Jewish/Gentile remnant when they "look upon Him whom they have pierced," repent of their sins, and receive Him as their Messiah. (Zech 12:10, Rom 11:1-6, 25-36)
7~ Sukkot ~ Tabernacles ~ points to the Lord's promise that He will once again tabernacle with His people when He returns to reign over all the world from Jerusalem. (Mic 4:1-7)
The last three Feasts ~ Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles extend over a period of 21 days in the Fall of the year. They came to be known collectively as Tabernacles.
No one knows Exactly the Hour or Day in Advance. It is a known fact that there is a small lapse in time (seconds) between the Waning and Waxing of the moon. One must be ever diligent as the Hebrews to watch for the 1st sliver of the Crescent Moon on the right side of the moon to announce the beginning of a Day�Month�New Year�Feasts�
There is also a 24 hour period of time as we know it missing from our Calendars but not our History�You may find this in�
Jos 10:12-13 Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 [[[ And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, ]]] until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? [[[ So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. ]]] (Scientific Calculation 23 hrs and 20 minutes)�[[[ ]]] emphasis added�
ll Kings 20:9-11 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? 10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, [[[ but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. ]]] 11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and [[[ he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, ]]] by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz. And the total adds up to 24 hours = 1 day in our time so it is a True statement of Jesus that Only God knows the EXACT Time�Day�Year !!!...PaPa God never stops Amazing me!!...
2 Pet 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Now that�s a lot of Calculating and Heavy stuff to ponder. Is it about the 1000 year Reign with our Beloved Saviour ?...I�ll just leave that to the Holy Spirit� :purpleangel:
Now let�s move on to the Blood Moons which I find Absolutely Fascinating. There has not been Blood Moons or Solar/Lunar Eclipses that fell on the Feasts Dates since May 15th 1948 on the 5 day of the month of lyar in the year 5708 of God when Israel became a Nation again. And the 6 day War of June 5th through the 10th 1967 on the 26th day of the month of lyar in the year 5727 of God when Israel fought against The United Arab Nations�Iraqi, Syrian, Jordanian and Egyptian armies.
Something of Great Importance weather Positive or Negative ALWAYS happens when Blood Moons, Solar~Lunar Eclipses happen / align with the Feasts of the LORD.
God is Amazing when He does what He says He will do. He gives us these Signs, Seasons~(Appointments), Days, Years. (Gen 1:14) for His purpose. He doesn�t want us to be �Ignorant� per 2 Pet 3:8 or die for �lack of Knowledge� per Hos 4:6�
Here is another interesting verse�
Joel 2:30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
Well�some will ponder that the blood meaning (war) along with fire and pillars and smoke in the Scripture of Joel could be related to the horrific attack of 911. However it can�t be, because the Great and Terrible Day of the LORD has Yet to Occur and this is why�
When Jesus stood in the Temple and read from the Torah He read from�
Isaiah 61 and is recorded in�
Luke 4:18-21(KJV)
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
If you will compare this with Isaiah 61�
Isaiah 61:1-3 (KJV)
61 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 aTo proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
Jesus stopped here and said �This day is �this� scripture fulfilled in your �ears��
He Didn�t Finish Reading the whole Scripture because the next verses are �Future� and have YET to be Fulfilled and Won�t be until His 2nd coming�read on�
2b and [[[ the day of vengeance of our God; ]]] to comfort all that mourn; [[[ ]]] emphasis added
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
The Day of Vengeance is the �great and the terrible day of the LORD come.� Found in Joel 2:30�
Oh how I LOVE Reading and Studying the Word�So my point is this�
There will Not be another Tetrad 4 Blood Moons for 400 hundred years. Hummm�400 hundred years sounds really familiar�I recall something about captivity�.
This year 2014 is a practice run, a Dress Rehearsal so to speak for many that Love Israel and the Hebrew/Jewish People chosen of the Most High GOD that turned toward the Gentiles and offered us also Salvation in HIS Son Yahshua ~ (Jesus).
Next year 2015 is the shmita, a end of a 7 year cycle of 7 years�A Sabbath Rest Year and a Year of Jubilee !!!...
At this time in 2015 not just the �men� are to go up to Jerusalem�ALL Men, Women, Children, Strangers are to Hear the Torah Read in the place which He shall choose�
Deut 31:10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, [[[ in the feast of tabernacles, ]]]� [[[ ]]] emphasis added�
11 When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

12 Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:

I�m ready for the �Feast� and �Appointment� with GOD to hear the �Teaching� ? Are you willing to set aside some time on these Feasts and Dates to hear the Torah being Read that you may Learn and Fear the LORD your GOD and Observe to do all the words of this �Teaching�? To Reflect and Worship the Most High GOD ???
I sure hope so and also hope to see you on the other side in Paradise with our LORD and Saviour Yahshua ~ (Jesus) when that �End� time comes�until then�God�s Continued Grace and Blessings to Yall�xo
