1 Timothy 2:11,12 A woman must quietly recieve instruction with entire submissiveness. But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.

Blessingtoone,

This woman you are talking about ...she "claims" that the Lord spoke to her and told her to preach.

Did the Lord tell her where she was to preach?

Did the Lord tell her she could preach or teach in a Church were men were present?

Did the Lord tell her she could be a "Pastor"?

Do you or she know the difference between "preaching" the Gospel in public and preaching it within a "Church" setting?

"IF" and I say "IF" the Lord spoke to her then why didn't He be more specific with her regarding where she could preach?

Do you think the Lord would have been more specific to make sure that she did not violate His written Word and make Him to be a liar?

Here's a big question for you.

Can God contradict His written Word?

Can you show us in the New Testament where God allows a woman to be a Pastor, an Elder or Bishop? Those are specific Church leadership positions.

Please show us in the scriptures where God said He would change this after a period of time and allow women to be in any of those three specific leadership positions.

Blessings!

Walter

Walter,

just because God tells or instructs somebody to do something, it does not mean he always tells them exactly where to do it.

In Genesis, when he showed up to Joseph in a dream showing him that his brothers will bow down to him, God didnt tell him when or where.

So in saying that "if" God talked to that lady, he would have been more specific and told her where, that is not always true. God will tell you what he wants to tell you, and he expects you to ask him for help along the way of getting there

we as humans take it totally opposite...

submissive is not a demeaning word though in society today is frowned on... was Christ below the apostles when he washed their feet....most surely not! but a woman is to be cherished and encouraged to prophecy and preach and teach...just not in a church setting its just biblical we dont change the word for cultures sake...then if we do to whose cultural view would we submit to? its of GOD that is inspired by the Holy Spirit...we either stand on it ALL or we dont stand... I believe there is gifts and word in a woman, a woman is precious and has a position... The man is not the evil dictator of his house, but is the FOUNNDATION on which his house is built on Just as Christ is the corner stone.... to the women: submission is not a role of shame but its a place of honor as we should also submit ourselves totally to Chirst and the WILL of the FATHER... Men do not be puffed up with simple knowledge for pride is boastful of its self and pride comes before the fall. Women do not be unwilling to submit not only to your husband, but to CHRIST and HIS WORD for if we compromise the WORD for ones own will then CHRIST is not in us. For CHRIST was as the FATHER but totally submitted to the FATHER.

I do not believe that women should usurp authority over men...or that women should be teaching men or preaching over men...I was, many years ago involved in a church (that i found out later) believed that women could be preachers, this church also had a very large number of women doing 80 percent of the work of the church, and nobody could understand why the men didn't want to have any if even a little involvement in the church..."fruits of their labor"...just saying

I wouldn't want to either if "the women were running the show".:excited:

fyi: I do worship and sing and dance and praise the Lord at church...(in my corner):applause:

And I love the men that lead, preach, and teach us all:bouncy:

The scripture is clear!

Though I think the reasoning is that those who truly preach the Word and don't add their candied stories and lists of does and don't s to it are apt to be very hated people.Just as the apostles were murdered for their preaching Christ instead of works, lead by the Spirit and not the word(a mechanical application of the word, remember that The Law(all commandments),was a school teacher to bring us to the knowledge of the risen savior). So to save women from the wrath of the worlds pride He put that in HIS plan. They already have the biggest job of all,the primary raising of rug-rats,you just can't do both and be proficient at both. Then their is the possibility that women are not constructed mentally/emotionally for that purpose(and that is absolutely NOT said in any sort of degradation nor malice).

The word of God tells us that you need two or three scriptures on the same topic to clearly establish the truth on any matter, it is very clear in the word of God, there is no difference between male or female in spirit, it is best to let the lord of the church call who he wills.

You have to read it in the context of the book of Corinthians..The women at the Corinthian church were acting out of order and apparently disruptive..Paul was telling them to act correctly and if they had questions, to ask their husbands at home...It's not that a women cannot speak...They did not have Sunday School back then, yet in Paul's other letters in this regard, did not prohibit them from teaching younger age and women...You have to understand who the Corithian Church was and their problems of pride and disorderly services.....A woman is not to usurp spiritual authority over a male...If you have questions, you should ask your pastor, or a deacon of the church, or a mature spiritual single male..
