IF... You died today, this very moment... where would you spend your eternal life? Will it be in heaven in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, beholding all of His beauty and glory? Or, will your eternal life be spent in hell burning eternally in the late of fire with Satan, and all those who have rejected the love of our Lord Jesus Christ in disobedience and His free gift of salvation?
I John Chapter 1. This is the message which we have heard from God and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
If... we say that we have fellowship with Him (God), and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
If... we walk in the light as He (God) is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If... we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If... we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If... we say that we have not sinned, we make God a liar, and His word is not in us.
If... you pray this prayer, God will hear you , and forgive you of all your sins, and He will fill you with His Holy Spirit, which is the Promise of The Father to all those who believe.
Father, teach me how to pray> Prayer of Salvation - Father, God, have mercy on me for I am a sinner. Forgive me of all my sins, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Only Begotten Son, and that He died on the cross for my sins, and You raised Him from the dead, so that I might have eternal life in heaven with you. So please, can we just talk about salvation and witnessing for the Lord Jesus Christ? someone might just get saved...thanks!
Amen to witnessing about the Lord Jesus through His Word. However, ET, the only Scripture you have quoted as the basis of a sinner's prayer for the lost to be eternally saved is I John 1:5-9 which is Scripture for born again Christians only.
There are many churches who believe that if the lost walks the sawdust trail and prays a sinner's prayer given to him that this lost person will automatically be eternally saved. I believe that we should preach the Word which is the sword of the Spirit and let the Father decide who He wants to draw to Him and to give the FREE GIFT of FAITH which NOT from ourselves as per Ephesians 2:8,9!!
Jesus says, "No one can come to Me *UNLESS* the Father who sent Me draws Him, and I will raise him up on the Last Day."
Hebrews 11:6: Anyone who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who EARNESTLY seek Him." And not from just quoting some sinner's prayer.
Jeremiah 29 :13: God says "You will find Me when you seek Me WITH ALL YOUR HEART." And not just by reciting some sinner's prayer given to you.
I Peter 1:23,24: "For you:rolleyes: have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God. For all men are like grass, and their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of the Lord stands forever. And this is the Word that was preached to you."
It is certainly hard lately to find a church with people who really love and obey and are on fire for Jesus. Very often even evangelical churches teach that if you pray the sinner's prayer and accept Jesus as your Savior you will receive a free pass to eternal life and God forbid that you should suffer financial hardship or persecution or tribulation; which certainly helps church membership and teaches varying degrees of the Satanic Prosperity Gospel at the expense of the Truth.
2 Corinthians 6:4-10: As servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance, in troubles, hardships and distresses, in beatings, imprisonments; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love, in truthful speech and in the power of God; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; dying, and yet we live on; beaten and yet not killed; *POOR*, yet making many rich; *HAVING NOTHING*; and yet possessing everything.�

YHWH has said no such thing within His Word.
SALVATION,does not come by PRAYING a PRAY.
If,Salvation is by praying a prsy,then Yeshua died in vain.

One thing that was said by George that was true was the epistle of Romans was written to the church.

The topic of discusssion is how is one saved in Romans 10:
Verse six the rightousness which is of faith speaks, it has a voice, and that voice speaking faith is not works but the law of faith, which believes from the heart unto righteousness, confesses with the mouth that it believes.
Verse 8 the word is nigh thee, even in the mouth , and in thy heart, that is the word we preach and the next verse tells that word, that is nigh thee in thy mouth and in thy heart.
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Again verse 10 with the heart man believeth and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
verse 14 confirms it all in this
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Yes the passage is to believers but it outlines clearly how one is to be saved, and responding to the gospel is not works as some would try to make you believe in their unbelief, it is an act of faith.
This word saved is in verse nine means to be delivered from among other things, and the sinner when he believes in his heart the truth concerning the lord Jesus and confesses Jesus with his mouth, he is then delivered from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his dear son.
This teaching is in total agreement with the parable of the sower, and anything less that what was said is just gross unbelief.
My prayer is that God will open their eyes of understanding into His word, and bring them to their sense through repentance of opposing His word of truth!
