Bible Summary. Sin is any Thought or Action that is against God. When we are in sin we are not in relationship with God. Confessing the sins in our lives is a first step in being reconciled back to God. God, because of His righteous nature, cannot be in the presence of our sinful disobedience. In fact from God's perspective, sin must be destroyed. At the same time God, because of His loving nature, loves all of mankind even though they are in sin. To reestablish a loving relationship with mankind, Jesus Christ paid the price on the cross for mankind's sin. What Is Sin And Why Does God Want Us To Confess Sins?
Sin is any thought or action that is against God. Sin started with Adam. As a result of Adam being disobedient to God in the garden of Eden, sin entered Adam and it became part of his nature. Because of our natural forefather, Adam, all of mankind has inherited this sin nature. Acknowledging sin in our lives is a first step to being reconciled back to God.
Romans 5:12 �Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:*** This advises us how sin was passed to all of mankind.�
God Will Not Have a Relationship With Us Unless We Confess Sins.
Whether we know it or not, we are suppose to be in a loving relationship with God. When we are not, we have broken our relationship with Him. Our Disobedience to God, our Creator, is a SIN. Only when we Acknowledge Our Offenses toward God can Our Relationship with God be Restored.
Hosea 5:15 �I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.� ***This advises us that God will not have a relationship with us without a confession of our sins.�
God's Free Gift to Us Saves Us From the Consequences of Our Sin.
Because of God's righteousness nature, He must Destroy and Punish Sin. Because of God's love, Christ Jesus paid the price on the cross for our sinful disobedience. Jesus' act on the cross is God's free gift to mankind. All We Must DO is �Confess� and �Believe.� This loving act enable mankind to be justified and in good standing with God.
Romans 5:16 �And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. ***This advises us on God's free gift of salvation from sin.�
We Confess Sins and Accept Jesus Christ as Our Lord and Savior.
If we Confess our Sins and Acknowledge Jesus as our Lord and Savior, WE Will Be Saved from the Consequences of Our Sins. We will be in Fellowship with God and have Eternal Life.
1 John 4:15 �Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.� *** This advises us to confess that Jesus is the Son of God.�
Cleanse Us From Our Sin and All Unrighteousness.
God Desires and Requires that We Confess Sins and Our Sin Nature. He Requires that We Confess that Jesus Christ's Action on the Cross enable God to Forgive our sins and Cleanse us from ALL Unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 �If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. *** This advises us on confession and God cleansing us from all unrighteousness.�
:laugh: PJ, why not just repent of your sin daily at night when you say your prayers before you go to bed, then we want miss repenting dialy even if you don't think you commit a sin everyday:prayingf::zzzz: most times we are only aware of our willful sins, and not those we are not conscious of...
I repent of my sins everyday and sometimes more through the day, coz some of these church folks I work with will make you sin before you know in your thoughts...Lord, pleeeweas lead me not into temptation to kill somebody or cuss somebody out... church folk are difficult to work with. I would rather work with two thousand hard noise sinners than 50 church folks:laugh:
I pray for you, may God Himself open your eyes of understanding into His holy word and grant you His spiritual knowledge , wisdom and understanding of His holy word. I'm really sadden by your commenst of disbelief yet you confess that you have such a close personal relationshio with Jesus Christ, but you really don't have a clue within your inner man. But iall you must do is repent of your sins, and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and to fill you with His Holy Spirit Devine, and it will chnage you from the inside out and turn your life right side Up. Plus, I had been wondering how to go about to even get started petitioning God on your behalf, as I see so much and many spiritual needs that need His attention. But with those you perfer to pray for you, praying... We know that only the CALLED CHOSEN and FAITHFUL will be with Jesus on the Last Day as per Revelation 17:14. I believe God only chooses and then calls through the Word of God {I Pet 1:23}those he knows will be faithful. Even though the faithful will sin every day and ask the Father to forgive them every day they will still have a relationship with God their Father since they are sons of God. It is certainly true that many will have a whole lot of unseen eternal rewards like John, Paul, David and Abraham etc and others may only have a few.
It is also true that we grow in Christ continually and that the more mature Christian may have a closer relationship with God than the babe in Christ.
And there are many who are not the called, chosen and faithful who will fall away when persecution comes as per Matthew 13:20-23:
Matthew 13:22,23: Jesus says, "There is the man who hears the Word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the Word, he quickly falls away."
And this is why there will be a great falling away at the beginning of the Great Tribulation when they learn they will not be able to buy or sell anything and that he must worship 666 or die.
� Matthew 24:3,9-13:� The disciples asked Jesus, �What will be the sign of your Coming and the end of the age?? Jesus answered�.. {During the Great Tribulation} �Then *YOU* will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and *YOU will be hated by all nations because of Me.� At that time many will turn away from the Faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of *MOST* will grow cold,{THE GREAT APOSTASY} but he {The Called, Chosen & Faithful-Rev 17:14b} who stands firm to the End will be saved.�
I do not confess my sins daily for I do not sin daily!!
I John 1:8-10; 2:6:
"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves:devil: and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives...Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did!"
God's Word commands us to pray without ceasing and Jesus commands that when you do pray you should ALWAYS:rolleyes: ask the Father to forgive your sins since we:rolleyes: continually fall short of walking as Jesus did.
Luke 11:2-4: Jesus says, "When you pray, say 'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come..Forgive us our sins!!":angel:
Those willfully continuing in sin are out of fellowship, correction is love.
Hardheartedness is sin.
It is not hard to walk in truth George, all you need to do is to submit to the lord and then receive the Holy Ghost you will always miss the mark without the helper.
