The Essentials of Prayer Matthew chapter 6

1. Communion with God. When believers pray we are to share our hearts and cares with God.

2. Adoration to God. We are to show great love, give praise and worship to God, and toward God.

3. Thanksgiving is given to God. Our prayers should include thanks to God for all He has done, all that He is doing, and for all He is going to do in our lives.

4. Confession of sins. When we pray our prayer should include sincere confession of our sins and repentance of our sins, and seek His cleansing power of forgivenness of our sins.

5. Intercession for help. Our prayer should include interceeding on behalf of people all over the world for healing, deliverance, and the lost unto salvation.

Prayer is not for God's benefit, it is for our benefit. God commands us to always pray wihtout ceasing, it is our tool to stay connected with Him.

The effective fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. Our prayers go where we cannot go in the physical, and accomplishes what we cannot in the spiritual.

And this is the confidence that we have in God, that if we ask anything according to His perfect will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. Prayer is a tool that get us guick access before the throne of God when we come boldy without doubting.

It is still true and makes a point, a christian can pray all day in the name of Jesus and the father may never hear them why?

You are so right PJ... and for the most part the reason is that christians are not praying according to God's perfect will, not including the essentials Jesus says should be included when we pray.

They pray with the wong motives, they pray without faith and doubt, they pray and do not repent of their sins, they pray for selfish reason, and for the most part they pray never giving God praise or glory, or thanks to God for one thing nor including those God has instructed us to include when we pray for those things we seek of Him.

Some of their prayers never leave the room, they just hit the ceilling and bounce right back on the floor...lol

What has my 10:49 PM post to do with your comments about "the Chinese praying with the wrong motives" as you states. Explain what you mean by this comment?

I've gotta make a move and prepare for today in worship in service before the Lord.

Do you think god answers prayer Chevy, of course there is specific ways to pray.

POIC:

Really Phil, let's see about that in the Word of GOD.

Mat 14:24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

Mat 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

Mat 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

Mat 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

Mat 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

Mat 14:29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

This is prayer.

Mat 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

Was Peters prayer answered, even though he FEARED.

YES

Mat 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Thank you for posting that, POIC, : Perfect scriptural example of what I was trying to say. I'm still learning! One thing I disagree with here is the discussion going on with pj and et about how God doesn't hear Some Christian's prayers. They bounce off the ceiling according to et. (Lots of my communication with God takes place outside. LOL) But if we are held accountable for and will give account for every word, then no question that He hears them. How can you two try to convince others their prayers aren't heard? et you are a joke gone wong.

Chevy of course you can disagree, that is your choice but we don not change truth by disagreeing with it, any one that is saved should have that witness in them.
