Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted for them to speak, but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. ~~~~~~~~ And if they will learn anything let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. (1Corinthians 14: 34-35) ____________________________ Why don't these scriptures apply today? Also what does it mean to usurp authority over a man and where's that scripture in the Bible? _____________________________ Do you think women preachers are called by God?

I see what your saying PJ...so who apointed Deborah judge/prophetess? God did.

~~~~
BUT
I feel the same way about women in leadership/pastoring. I honestly am not comfortable with women having leadership role over men.
BUT
If God apoints/anoints then who are we to say anything different ?
what is your opinion on licensed christian counselors who are women, should they only counsel women? Personally, I would rather go to a woman counselor because hopefully she will understand me more than a man BUT on the other hand, a license to counsel is a license to counsel both genders.
should a woman be a senior pastor of a church? No, not in my opinion, mostly because we are the weaker vessel. Is that being religous? I hope not.
Well then you are saying you do not understand anointing.
Saved then by the way, you also stated that the majority rules which of course has nothing to do with scripture.
So if you are not willing to pray about it who is wrong? you clearly said you do not accept what the word of God teaches.
So you would have to be under my authority, and also you are my glory.
Sorry PJ, Scripture is clear, especially New Testament Scripture, granted there are special anointings, however that has nothing to do with placing woman in a postion of authority in the Church. You are comparing apples and oranges. If a Woman is anointed with the gift of prophecy or teaching does that automatically make her a pastor?.... No, in fact her and her gifts are subject to the Church. She can't just prophesize or teach what ever she wants, she is under the authority of that Church.
PJ wrote -"Well then you are saying you do not understand anointing."
No, you are saying I don't based upon our disagreement.
PJ wrote - "Saved then by the way, you also stated that the majority rules which of course has nothing to do with scripture."
Huh??? Where did I say that?
PJ wrote - "So if you are not willing to pray about it who is wrong? you clearly said you do not accept what the word of God teaches."
Where are you coming up with this? I never said such things. PJ, it's not a matter of who is wrong... Scripture is always right. There are no verses, none, that put a woman as head of the man, having leadership and authority over him where Biblical things are concerned.
PJ wrote - "So you would have to be under my authority, and also you are my glory."
Hardly.. :laugh: You're not my Pastor, you're not my husband. You're missing the point. That being, we are discussing where in Scripture does it say that woman has authority and leadership roles over man in the Church.
PJ wrote -"By the way saved there are several errors in your long post!!"
That long post was pasted into this thread and was written by 1heart and Two.
Actually Two there is no difference to the authority, man or woman is always subject to the authority there is no gender difference.
It is not hard at all, to walk in truth if you are saved but the traditions of men will always affect what one believe's.
Romans 16:7 Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
This name Junia is femine and if you understand the office of an apostle, you know one of the fruit's of their anointing is establishing churches and overseeing pastor's.
The days ahead that the church is facing are vital for believer's to be open and listening for the devil will be raging, and saying continually it is not the lord that is moving as he is currently moving on the earth and will be moving in a greater way in America in the near future.
He will be screaming that it is false, and some will fall for his trap but it is my desire as is the lord's that none should perish.
