Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted for them to speak, but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. ~~~~~~~~ And if they will learn anything let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. (1Corinthians 14: 34-35) ____________________________ Why don't these scriptures apply today? Also what does it mean to usurp authority over a man and where's that scripture in the Bible? _____________________________ Do you think women preachers are called by God?
Of course we have scripture for woman to be anointed of God!!
When I mentioned anointing, I was speaking of a specific anointing such as:
1Co 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
These are ministry gifts to the body of Christ by the head of the church for the purpose mentioned in context.
In otherwords there is a distinction between being born again and receiving an anointing, a measure, and then if a believer receives the Holy Spirit they receive even a greater measure of anointing.
Those that are called to any of the ministry Gifts are specifically anointed to operate in that gifting.
Notice what is said about the anointing in this scripture:
1Jo 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
The first time I ever seen a woman teach in a service I first made a stupid statement that a woman could not preach, it wasn't five minutes into the meeting I bowed my head and ask the lord to forgive me for my stupidity.
The anointing is on the spirit of an individual not the gender, there is neither male nor female.
Examples of such:
Jud 4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
Jud 4:5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
Not only was Deborah a prophetess but she also was a judge, do you suppose that was not over men.
Ne 6:14 My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.
Lu 2:36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
Acts 18:26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
Both ministered to the man and no it does not say any authority was usurped.
Romans 16:7 Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
Notice the name Junia, a woman apostle.
Going back to the scripture 1st tTim 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
The context is husband and wife and this headship is also natural, Jesus is our spiritual head, both man and woman.
Also the bible teaches you do not establish any truth in the mouth of one witness.
Any one that desires to know the truth can always do what the word says and the holy spirit will always do his part.
