I found this article and thought it very important to share, because it gives out a serious warning and confirms what Jesus has also warned all Christnas about in the Gospels, and Paul speaks these same warnings to us throughout his writings. It is a very DANGEROUS THING to go beyond what God has already written in His word for us to know...
THE DEEP THINGS OF SATAN by Harry Bethel BethelMinistries.com
Anyone who rejects these clear scriptural truths is irrational, delusional and probably demonized. (Delusional: A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness.) God commanded Adam, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die [spiritually]" (Genesis 2:16-17).
Since Eve disobeyed her husband who warned her not to eat of the forbidden fruit, and not to even touch it, and since Adam disobeyed God from whom he received the command and warning, all mankind has been conceived in the womb spiritually dead (except the Man Christ Jesus, who was not born of the seed of Adam).
In Revelation 2:24 Jesus warned the Christians in Thyatira about the "deep things of Satan." He spoke in a commendable way to the ones who had not learned the occult or hidden truths of the devil.
Today, in the unprecedented apostasy of true Christians, many Christian charlatans are merchandising many of the "deep things of Satan," and many Christians, contrary to God's warnings, gobble up these books and videos that supposedly inform people concerning occult symbols, practices, prophecies, date settings, ad nauseam.
The curiosity of true Christians is being aroused by the piquant writings and teachings of Christians and non-Christians who are perceived as being "scholars" or "experts" in the field of the occult, cults and false religions. There is a significant market for the "deep things of Satan," and true Christians are more than willing to spend the Lord's money (of which they are stewards) on this stuff that brings glory, not to Jesus, but to the deceiver and archenemy of our souls. Most Christians are so lacking in discernment that they have no clue about what is really happening, neither the Christian huckster-author-producer of these intriguing teachings nor the many who have cultivated an appetite for them. It is because of this lack of discernment that such a lucrative market is created by the demand for such books, videos, lectures, etc.
Sad to say, many Christians are much more inquisitive about the "deep things of Satan" than they are the "deep things of God" (1 Corinthians 2:10 KJV). What happens is that God gives them the desires of their heart, but sends leanness to their souls. They are "spiritually impotent", in part, because they are seeking to satisfy their curiosity for the knowledge of evil. Like Eve, who was deceived by the subtle tactics of Satan, Christians think they are missing out on something. Many try to skirt the warnings by essentially saying, "But Lord, can't I just take a bite and taste of the forbidden fruit and spit it out without eating it? Or perhaps I could just let it pass over my tongue it? Or, Lord, maybe I could just smell of it?" If the Christians who produce all the wares of the "deep things of Satan" became a disciple (learner) of Jesus, and spent as much time studying the Word of God as they do researching the occult, cults, false religions, meanings of symbols on currency, on buildings, ad nauseam, they would be immeasurably and eternally better off than any monetary remuneration, satisfaction of their curiosity, or being esteemed as an "expert" on the occult, etc.
Likewise, Christians who have an appetite for such things would be immensely better off if they would repent, become a learner (disciple) of Jesus and spend time searching the "deep things of God."
The apostasy of true Christians is so great in these last days that they do not even suspect that there is anything wrong with bringing into their residence pictures of things pertaining to the occult, etc., such as those published in Bible dictionaries, study Bibles, commentaries, etc. Even this paragraph would be considered absurd by the overwhelming majority of true Christians today. (It is not within the scope of this article to give an exhaustive treatment of the subject, nor all the scriptural reasons for heeding the truths presented herein.
More than enough truth is presented to convince any true Christian who has "ears to hear." For those who are not hereby convinced, an exhaustive thousand-page book would not convince them either. This applies especially to those who would try to defend their position of in-depth study of the occult, cults, false religions and the publication of research by using isolated Scripture verses taken out of context, such as Ephesians 5:11, without considering many other verses such as Ephesians 5:12, 1 Thessalonians 5:22, et al.)
God's way and desire for His people is not to study the teachings and symbolism of the occult and cults, but rather to immerse oneself in the truths of His Word and apply to their life the truths therein.
We do not need to know details of occult teachings, cults, or false religions in order to protect ourselves from being deceived by false teaching, nor to prepare us for the inevitable New World Order, nor for any other reason.
If a Christian learns the truths of God's Word, and thereby becomes discerning, even if they do not have the spiritual gift of discernment, they will be able to quickly detect false teaching (doctrines of demons) when they are presented. God's way of detecting counterfeits or the false is to become very familiar with the genuine or the truth.
When one is filled with the truth, the false becomes obvious without having to know all the details of it. "Be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil" (Romans 16:19).
TD Jakes preaches a prosperity gospel and the others you have mentioned do not. I fail to see how they are all then spiritually sound. A good idea is not to watch TBN at all.
Hello, I was asking you because it sounded like you seemed to have learned knowledge about these things threw the book you speak of Kindom of the cults? I actually do not have much knowledge of this man Harold Camping Thats why I was asking you. All I know of him is what I had stated in my post in March. And that he is the head and owner of family radio.Again, I live in Newyork city and there are Vans going around NewYork City with loud speakers Blasting May 21st 2011 is the rapture. And Oct 21 is the end of the world completely. By May 21st he has said his Vans will reach all of the United states with his loud speakers and tracts that him and his followers are handing out. He has written several books We can know the hour and Time does have an end.Where he explains how he came up with this calculation of May 21st 2011. I believe this man to be a FALSE PHROPHET. And his organization possibly to be a cult. But my sister is very scared and so are alot of people and alot of new christians dont know what to believe. And I am hearing cases of attenpted suicide because of his predictions. I thought you might be able to shed some light on cults and false prophets and diserning. But if I have asked the worong person I am sorry. This post was written with hopes to help people alleviate their fears. If anyone could shed some light on this subject I would appreciate it! Thank you and Blessings to all!
Oh Grace...there is nothing to be sorry about. I was thinking the same about you! (Giggle) Isn't that funny? I think you know more about Camping than I do! How awful about the attempted suicides. In all honesty, I just heard him on the radio in February, but the signal was not clear from my car. I thought I was misunderstanding him. When I got home, I looked him up and was quite shocked! I can understand why your sister might be so anxious! Poor thing. We shall just keep praying for her and others over this. So, I unfortunately cannot shed any more light on him.
As far as cults are concerned, I feel the more we know how their core beliefs contrast with what we know about Christ, the more prepared we are. There is ALWAYS one test we can pose: Do you believe Jesus is the true Messiah, the second in the Trinity, and Salvation only comes through Him? If the answer is "no," then we know where to start and how to explain how Christianity is different. If the answer is "yes, " we still need to be cautious. I have learned about 'lesser cults', if that would be the correct way to classify them, that sure appeared to be Christian but weren't. Moses David and the Children of God come to mind, as does David Koresh.
If you can get any info from "Kingdom of the Cults" it would be very valuable to you.
