Did Elijah send Jehoram King of Judah a letter from heaven?

People say Elijah went to heaven on a whirlwind.

II Kings 2 vs 11 : Elijah is taken up by the whirlwind.

II Kings 3 vs 7 : Jehoram (same name as King of Judah) King of Samaria (northern Israel) forms an alliance with Jehoshaphat to fight the Moabites. They consult Elisha because he has taken over for Elijah.

II Chron 21 vs 1 : Jehoshaphat dies and his son Jehoram takes over. He's a bad boy, so Elijah sends him a letter and tells him he's gonna die.

This is clear proof that the letter came after the whirlwind incident. Did the letter come from God's heaven? Or was Elijah just taken to a different place but still near enough to send a letter.

Since Jesus said no man has ascended to heaven but he who came from heaven and Paul writes Jesus dwells in unapproachable light whom no man has seen or can see, I think we can conclude that Elijah was still on earth.

I posted this once before, the hebrew word used for heaven means lofty or sky, not heaven where Jesus dwells in unapproachable light whom no man has seen or can see.

And I have answered it once before with no response, and you continue to post it with no reply?

It's a good thing I didn't make a mistake and post a wrong scripture reference you wouldhave accuse me of trying to deceive. I never thought that about you, I just figured you made an honest mistake. I & II KIngs and I & II Chron can get confusing especiaally with 2 kingdoms having kings with the same name. Shalom

Your right, esp when many have the same or similar names. I just get a little riled when Scripture is remolded to say somethjing else. I think there is some validity in your position, however I think you try to take it to far and try to make it applicable to everyone in every time with every kind of relationship or lack of, with God.

I would be lying to myself if I looked at all these scriptures and then came up with the mainstream conclusion. I have no problem with believing a person goes to heaven when they die I personally just don't see it. It's not a salvation issue. It's just details and denominationalism is in the details. The Apostle Paul did rebuke Hymaneaus calling him a cancer for saying the resurrection has past. I don't have any authority to rebuke anyone but I will put out ideas and try to back them with scripture, it's all I have. The people I will rebuke are the ones that say things like Jesus was a man who became God, not God who became man or those that say Jesus isn't God. Also, there is a long sin list in the bible that is fairly clear. Other than that I'm pretty open.

Our friend James in a previuos post said that one reason for him believing when you die you go immediately to heaven was 2.000 years of church tradition. I don't see anywhere in the bible where it mentions purgatory. If I'm correct about what happens at death, then there is a major religion that prays and worships dead people. You can keep your tradition. Also, if I'm correct, then all these people that are out there connecting with "dead family members" are actually messing with demonic spirits.
