What does this verse mean to you?

Isaiah 55:8

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

twosparrows - I think it is about time you answer one of my questions

Ryan - For the many questions you have answered, I must owe you

twosparrows - In the Eph verse the word dead is figurative for the condemnation of man, like a man on death row...like a ...'dead man walking'.

Was Lazarus dead when Jesus called to him? So a dead man can hear the word of God.....right? Or did Lazarus come to life before Jesus called so he could hear him?

Ryan - Yes Lazarus must have been walking around in there. Yes Lazarus was dead. Can dead man hear? This gets to the heart of the matter. If the spirit makes the dead man alive, yes he can hear. Can a dead man hear on his own? no

5Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

John 3:5-8

Ryan,

Thank you for answering, just so I don't miss understand your answer... You are saying that God can Not speak in a way that the dead can hear, since His Sovereignty is limited and can only make Himself heard by those who are alive?

Now I am confused, I thought you said God makes you alive, (born again) first, so you can hear and accept the truth of the Gospel. So what is it can God make dead men hear, or not?

6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found;

call upon him while he is near;

7 let the wicked forsake his way,

and the unrighteous man his thoughts;

let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,

and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven

and do not return there but water the earth,

making it bring forth and sprout,

giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;

it shall not return to me empty,

but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,

and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

It seems to me that he is making clear his relationship to his children, as though he is saying:

"Don't give up hope, or resign yourself to little reward. Follow ME. Trust that I am God and God alone: that I can pardon your sins, that my will always prevails, even if you do not see it."

God Making a person "born again" first is nonsense. We are born again After the Spirit has drawn us , we have repented of our sins, and accepted Jesus into our hearts.

Ryan, I ask a question, asking which of the two conflicting statements that you appear to be saying do you really mean, and your answer is "yes"?
