I just want to say

We have had some lately that wanted to say the lord is the source is the source of afflictions, suffering , sickness, as if they where Gifts.

My bible teaches me that is the work of the God of this world, the one that used to be my god, but no longer is he my god.

I have tasted of the lord and he is the giver of every good and perfect gift:

For death he gave me life

For confusion he gave me peace

For darkness he gave me light

For selfishness he gave me love

For lack he gave me abundance

For sickness he gave health

For the greatest gift of all, he gave me himself

For all the work of Satan he gave me victory

For he so loved me, that he gave me his first begotten son.

I am grateful for all his goodness

Praise the lord.

A person can teach their puppy all they want. However, one of the best things that can happen to a puppy is for it to hit by a car but not killed, then you instantly have a car broke dog. Chances are good this dog will never get hit by a car the rest of its life. You can drive without having to worry you might run him over. Other dogs have to stay tied up or in the kennels, while this dog has the freedom to go where he wants.

So you see, freedom isn't free. Those who haven't suffered for their freedom don't keep it long.

Adam and Eve didn't suffer for their freedom, and they lost it for all of us and we have been suffering ever since. Jesus suffered to set us free, but that is only 1/2 the Gospel, we are called share in his sufferings. This isn't about paying for our own sins, it is about learning to trust, learning to love, learning obedience. Only the free learn this things, the captive learns nothing.

The point and summation of it all is, religion confiqures the lord with the god of this world/

I have not found anyone that believes heaven would be like it is on earth, so what is the difference.

Why does Christians suffer

Why are they afflicted?

Why are the healed sick?

Why are the prosperous in lack?

Why is the church full of divorce?

Why is the church so full of confusion?

PJ,

Do yourself a favor and read Job.

Job was more righteous than ANYONE on Earth, and well, I don't want to ruin the ending for you, so you go and read that Okay?

Pj, I realize that it is hard for you to believe that God gets angry, but take your time and go read these chpaters before you call eveything of satan... For it is written; Therefore the holy Spirit said, Today if you will hear His vioce, do not harden your hearts as in the day of provocation (rebellion) in the day of temptation in the wilderness, when your fathers tempted me, proved(tested) me, and saw my works for ofrty years. Therefore, I was grieved with that generation, and said, ' THEY DO ALWAYS ERR IN THEIR HEARTS, AND THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN MY WAYS. SO IWSWARE IN MY WRATH, THEY WILL NOT ENTER MY REST.

Hebrews chapter 3; Anger of God is His reacton in His righteousness against sinful people and evil in all forms.

Isaiah chapter 13, Romans chapter 1; Ephesian chapter 5, Revelation chapter 14. God's anger is a holy wrath against sin, which is differnet than when man gets anger. He bases His anger on His righteousness and standards to judge sin fairly.

Ella, I have never made a statement, that I am not aware of the topic. Remember I am a christian not a calvinist, you can not deceive the holy spirit.

Now I will share this with you:

Explain the law of sowing and reaping!

Explain the law of faith!

James I am well aware of the book of Job, but according to your response, you are not walking in the light.

Ella are you under the wrath of God?

Okay PhillipJohn here are YOUR words at the beginning of this thread:

"We have had some lately that wanted to say the lord is the source is the source of afflictions, suffering , sickness, as if they where Gifts"

Now here is Scripture speaking about GOD........

Deu 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

1Sa 2:6-8 The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.

Job 12:6-10 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly. But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Now PHillipJohn you say you have read the book of Job, and if this is true, you should know that Job NEVER mentions Satan as if Satan afflicted him. Job, unlike you, knew that GOD is sovereign, and that NOTHING bad could ever happen to Him unless God allowed it. Job knew that God was in control.

Satan can only do what God allows.

And what about the apostle Paul? In 2 Cor. 12 Paul talks about a thorn in his side, and he asked God to remove it, but what did God say???

The truth is PJ, that since we are only partially renewed, and we still have a sinful nature, that sometimes it is BETTER if we suffer a bit, because it keeps us humble, and keeps us walking with God.

In Christ,

James

2 Corinthians chapter 11 ~ ".....been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea,......have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked....."

James chapter 1 ~ "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and lacking anything."
