Question concering Alcahol

OK I grew up in a Baptist church, then went to Assemblies of God, and now Pentacostal. All of these churches believe that the word of God is what it says nothing to be added or taken away from the word. Now here is my question is alcahol wrong? I am talking wine, beer, liqour, any of it? I do believe that getting drunk is wrong cause the word says to not become drunk, however many churches believe it is wrong and say Jesus did not turn the water to wine it was grape juice. Is this not taking away from the word and adding to it? Also I forget where I read it but in Old testament I even read where liqour was part of a offering. Personally I feel alcahol, just like money food or any thing else can become a sin, when it comes first. Please let me know your thoughts ty:prayingm:

Fat Tire's pretty good, but I prefer Sierra Nevada Torpedo if we're picking grocery store beers.

I did have Heather Ale once. I loved it. But I was also in the Highlands of Scotland, where everything is fantastic and wonderful. So I'd recommend it, but only if it's a good one.

Or in the Highlands.

Thank you everyone for your input, most of you see and feel same way I do about it. That a little bit is nothing wrong. Getting drunk, worshiping it, or even drinking it in front of someone that is against it is things I would not do. Thanks, Ira

Loves2cook,

The only thing I will say on drinking is that while the Bible says nothing about whether it's wrong to drink, it does say do not be a stumbling block. So in every situation, you need to consider if you would be a stumbling block. If you are in your own home, and no one is around, I doubt you would be a stumbling block. However, if you are around someone who is an alcoholoic, and has a hard time resisting, then yes, you might be a stumbling block.

Should you drink or not should be the question, not is drinking wrong. You have to use the wisdom and common sense that God gives you to judge each case.

While drinking in your home, you should also consider your children. You have no idea if they will have a problem when they grow up. Seeing drinking as normal behavior could lead to overindulgence. I am not saying it will, but that it is a real possibility.

I do not mind people drinking, even when I am present, but I don't do it for a couple of reasons. I have an addictive personality, so it isn't worth the risk for me.

Also, it can harm your testimony. As a minister (servant) of God, we are held to a higher standard. People are always watching and waiting for us to do something wrong, so they can point the finger at us. I don't want to be someone's excuse for not coming to Christ. I want them to have to admit that they just didn't want to come.

Just my thoughts,

Leon
