10/03/10 Sunday Pastor Alex sermon: Back to the Basics: FAITH-Heb 10:19-26, Heb 11:1-13, Matt 11:12, Daniel 10:10-14

The gift of Faith is talked about a lot in church. It is also used loosely in daily conversation. Whats important is what God says about Faith and why its important to us.

In Hebrews vs. 10 it says we should have BOLDNESS to enter into the Lords presence. This presence being also the throne of Grace.

When the prophets of the Old Testament entered into Gods presence, they fell to their knees. Being in sin is a death penalty from God so they fell to their knees so he wouldnt kill them. God cannot look at sin. We are covered by the Blood of Jesus, washed clean and can enter into Gods presence with no fear of death. This is why we pray to God in Jesuss name, so we are cleaned.

We have to go to the cross of Calvary to meet the Lord because he cant and wont come to us when we are in our sin. We must have Faith in the crosss ability to do its work. This work is cleaning us of our sins so we can go to God in Jesuss name thru Grace.

1) Hold Fast: We must hold fast to things that can bring more Faith into our lives. We are to hold fast to the cross, Gods promises and walk in Faith. God is not in Heaven counting our sins, ready to punish us. God wants to protect us and prosper us. But..when we sin, we are putting a consequence into motion that was set before time by God. Sin has consequences that bring death and destruction. Just like dropping a pair of glasses, gravity brings the consequence of them falling to the ground. So is the consequence of sin.

Grace is the thing. When the cross is applied to our sins Grace intervenes and stops what we have set into motion by sin. We must have faith in Christs ability to do what He was told to do at the cross. Heb 10:19-20 We are to have boldness to enter into the holiest place by the Blood of Jesus, by a New and Living Way. Jesus Christ is our High Priest that we can draw near to. We can walk in a new way now since we got washed vs. 23. We need to hold fast to the cross because it is able to do great things in our lives. We should have a New Attitude. We should have Hope. Let our Hope be seen by others so when they ask us why, we can tell them about Jesus!!

FAITH says that no matterNO MATTER what life throws at us, we BELIEVE that the Cross of Calvary CAN do what needs to be done in our lives!!

FAITH says that we believe and KNOW God is waiting to UNLEASH his blessings and healings on us.

2) Freedom is Worth Fighting For: Matt 11:12 No matter what comes in our lives, we can be free in the midst of hell. We should hold fast to Jesus, the cross, the crucifixion---No matter what!! We can be Free and God is with us! We cry out to God in the middle of our mess and He will be there. Freedom is worth fighting for. We need to fight the doubts that satan brings us. When satan comes to us with junk thats against Gods promises, we need to go to the cross in prayer. We pray to God in Jesuss name and He will meet us at the cross. Anything that tries to kill our joy, take it to the cross and God will stomp it down! The Cross has the power to raise us from the dead and put us in a place of honor.

Daniel 10:10-14 The angel comes to Daniel and tells him what God is going to do with him. The angel said that Daniels words were heard by God. Our words are heard by God. Our prayers go up to God because of Jesus and the cross. We must believe, have faith and

WAIT on God! Freedom is worth fight for because hell wants to steal our faith and joy.

3) We Must Believe there is a Miracle in Our Future:

Say out loud: There is a miracle in our future! We must have Faith like those in the bible had: Heb 11:1-13 Noah, Moses, Abraham, Sarah, Enoch, Shadrach, Meeshack and Abednego had Faith in God! They said God was able to DELIVER them no matter the circumstances. God was with them and they believed. Shadrach, Meeshack and Abednego said NO to bowing to idols and said that God would deliver them. They had Faith . We need to have Faith that thru the Blood of Jesus, we can go to God and He WILL do a miracle in our lives.!

Faith says==No matter what, God is able to deliver us from EVERYTHING!!

Faith says==If God be for us, who can be against us?? NOBODY!!

One Day we will be in the City of God where there is NO sin, NO death, NO doubt and just NO mess! In that day, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.! We need to hold fast to our Faith because the Day of the Lord is coming SOON!!

AMEN and AMEN

Trucker, if gathering into a church Building for praise and worship is not something of importance, then PLEASE y'all tell me why it is that Jesus Himself, and all the disciples as was their custom, to always go to the temple, synagogues every Sabbath to hear the scritpures, to preach, and to pray and worship God.

Sound like an excuse to me that all those who don't attend regular church services to worship and pray find. Saying that you can gather anywhere. YET, the Bible tells us that Jesus gathered in the temple/synagogue with others to preach, read the scriptures and to pray, which the synagogue/temple is no different than a church bulding for Christians to gather.

The people in the book of Acts gather in homes, synagogues/temple, so what your problem with the church building?

Maybe this is why so many of you got what YOU call the gospel of scriptures all twisted and out off course, you are gathering with a bunch of people who really don't know the gospek themsleves, noe have been claedd or set aside by God to teach the gospel. And all of you are trying to teach each other, kinda like the blind leading the blind, who don't know anything outside of what YOU THINK the word is saying and you're not spiritually maturing not one bit outside of what YOU THINK YOU KNOW ABOUT GOD AND THE WORD..

So, If Jesus and the apostles and all the people in the bible had to gather on the Sabbath in the temple/synagogues, WHAT 'S YOUR'ALL PROBLEM ABOUT GATHERING TOGETHER WITH OTHER BELIEVERS IN THE CHURCH BUILDING? A place that has been set aside and appointed as a place for beleievers and non believers to worship and give praise to God?

I get so tried of so-called Christian believers who THINK they have the know all, saying that they don't have to gather in a building to worship or praise God! You and ALL those who think such , Sounds like the Pharisee standing praying...and most likely, this could bethe very reason your so-called gospel is so twisted and you can't see far past your OWN understanding of scriptures. You're trying to teach yourselves and reading books written by men who are also twisted in their OWN wisdom and knowledge about God and His word.:zzzz:

@ ET

What is ther meaning of the following Scriture/Word of the Living GOD.

Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Act 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

Act 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Act 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Act 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Rom 16:3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:

Rom 16:4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

Rom 16:5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.

1Corin. 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

It was mandatory for 10 men to begin a synagouge,Yeshua brought this number down to 2 and they did not have to be just men...

Yeshua and His disciples went to the Temple for this was the prescribed place for them to meet with YHWH..

Since there is no physical temple today seeing that we are the temple of the Living GOD,then a stationary place is not

required..

People could meet in a park, bowling alley, library,OR peoples houses..

There is bondage and control issues when meeting in buildings..

Ususally the guy calling himself pastor controls what goes on,quenching the Holy Spirit and quenching the people...

If a building is necessary, then will you please tell the persecuted Chinese,Sudanese, and the rest of the persecuted beleiver that they need a building and a pastor,

For if they do not have a pastor and a building, then they cannot be Christians..

I hope that the Holy Spirit of the Living GOD will open your mind to the Word of GOD and to the freedom which we have in Yeshua...

Shalom and Chesed:

St.George

Oh Boy....here we go again...

Trucker Shared ~ There is bondage and control issues when meeting in buildings...

Jude Replies ~ Are you So sure its Not You that has the Bondage & Control Issues with Buildings ??? Ya I went there !!!......

Why does it matter so much to you that People and Fellow Christians gather in a Church Building ???

I my self just like other persons here really enjoy going to Church, hearing the Word and Fellowshipping with Others of the Faith in Christ Jesus*...as well as Meeting in Homes and Out Doors...BBQ's are awesome with others of the Faith..

Just because You believe we should not do this and have made it quite clear by supplying Scripture about Jesus* and His Apostles Living in a manner in that Century and Era that is contrary to Modern Living...is no reason to continually tell everyone here that its Wrong...

Its quit possibly Wrong for You George...BUT...Ima purty sure you dont run around barefooted / sandels / wearing a tunic / robe sleeping under the Stars and Preaching the Gospel...xo

Eze 34:8 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

Mr 6:34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

ooooweeeee, Jude, you know you spoke a word for the rest of the year!:applause:...but you know what?... I have concluded that many of the "self-proclaimed", "self-called" ,

" self appointed", and "self-anointed" bible teachers on this forum, remind me of my old rundown-runover houseshoes... I know I should throw them out, but they are so comfortable... they're going nowhere fast, they just make a lot of noise...flip-flipping away:ROFL:

Trucker (Georege) you said: "Yeshua and his disciples went to a temple for this was the prescribed place for them to meet with Yhwh. Since there is no physical temple today seeing that we are the temple of the living God, then a stationary place is not requested.

Ella says, Trucker, where on earth did you get this information? Was it given to you by interpretation or revelation? And if by revelation from whom was the relveator that gave you such a notion as this?...

Also, please tell me where in scriputre do you find these things you are speaking? Because the scriptures you gave out in Matthews has nothing whatsoever to do with believers gathering together in a CHURCH BUILDING, which is the PLACE, that has been "PRESCRIBED FOR THEM TO MEET WITH GOD, same as Jesus and the disciples gathered to meet with God in a temple or synagogue. What is the difference between meeting with God in a temple, or synagogue or church, all are buildings.

Christian believers prescribe to a physcial building to meet with God, and call it a church. Where as the Jews met with God in a temple or synagogue. Where in God's word, does God tell us that since our bodies are the temple, we no longer need to meet in a building to meet with God?

Did you know? Have you not heard?... that Some bodies are more corrupt than the physical church building, so do you think that God lives or meet with people who are corrupt in their living temples (bodies)? Do you know the difference between the spiritual body of Christ as the church, and the local physical body of Christ as the church? I really don't think you do...

But One thing I do know is that, the Holy Temple will be rebuilt, and my Bible tells me that people from every nation will gather there to worship and meet with God.

Now if you are gathering and meeting with your god at the bowling alley, library, or in someone's house, I think you might miss your appointment to meet with God.

No it doesn't matter where you meet regularly with God, the question is, ARE YOU MEETING WITH HIM? And we are exhorted not to forsake the essembling of ourself together with other believers in the faith, and this essembling is usually found to be regularly gathering in one place in a building that has been determined as a holy place of worship, holy and sanctifed before God as the place Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ meet with Him regularly in unity of faith with others to worship[ and give praise to our God.

Now If you decide to meet with your god in the Walmart parking lot in the handicap parking area. That's for you, because when the temple is rebuilt and all nations are gathered to prasie and worship God. And I don't think Walmart or MacDonalds parking lots will be open for you to gather to meet with God.. so you need to be finding a place where you know there is more of a possibility of God showing up. I don;t think He will be stopping by the library either, He already has the answers...

So I think you will have a BIG problem, because God ain't gone be meeting you there, He will be in His Holy Temple, and I plan to meet Him there on the first floor:excited:.

So Trucker, you keep meeting with God in the parking lots, or bowling alley, or library, or wherever you gather. but I "SPEC" you will be by yourself meeting when Jesus comes.

And FYI, God appointed and anointed and called pastors, in the CHURCH for the equipping of the saints, in case you haven't read that part of your Bible yet. And whatever your problem is with the church building and with pastors, the next time you meet withGod in the parking lot, please don;t forget to inform Him about your problems.

You should keep these problem in mind that oyu have with pastors, and know and understand why is it that you're trying to pastor somebody on this forum with your undefined teachings? As Jesus so says, Lost sheep without a leader.

No where is it found that you or any should discourage anyone from worshipping God in a church building, based on your OWN problems. Sure doesn't sound like someone appointed by God to me ...

The Pharosee & the Sinner:

And Jesus spoke this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were RIGHTEOUS, and yet despised others.

"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Phrisee, and the other a tax collector.

The Pharisee stood and prayed like this with himself, " God, I thank You that I am not like other men, who are exotortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector (a sinner). I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I possess.

And the tax collector (the sinner), standing afar off, would not even so much as raise his eyes up to heaven, BUT beat on his chest, saying, "GOD BE MERCIFUL TO ME A SINNER!"

Then Jesus said, "I tell you this man the tax collector, went down to his house more justified rather than the other.

For everyone who EXALTS him/herself will be abased(brought down), and the person who humbles him/herself will be EXALTED (lifted up).
