Questioning God

Not sure how heated I am, Seeking_God...I just don't understand. I am suppose to question someone else about who God is? No one can tell us who God is but God, Himself. He created us, gave us intellect...minds that thirst for knowledge. How am I going to discover Truth if I don't question God? You can tell me to study my Bible...but what is studying the Bible...the Word...if it isn't going in search of answers to questions you have about God?

I'm a mother with a child. She questions me constantly...about everything. Sometimes I lose my patience...but it is the way she learns. She questions me because I am her parent. God is infinitely more patient than I am...do you think that He wants us to sit in a corner and not interact with Him? I am His child. His Spirit is within me. Who is the first that I go to when trials befall, tragedy comes or something hurts me and I want to know why? Who would know better than Him? I am free to ask questions...any questions...of my Father.

Jesus questioned God when He asked, Father, why have You forsaken Me. Also, God encourages us to "come now, let us reason together"... can't reason without asking what, where, when, how, why come questions.:yay:

I will refer to the word by several stories.

First- When Sodom amd Gomarrah were destroyed did not Abraham plead to save those cities.he asked questions right?

Would you save the cities if you found 40-30- 20 -10

rightous men????

was this not asking God questions.

What about Samuel's mother who prayed for a child everyday????

since christianity is about relationship and relationship includes communication, why wouldnt we be allowed questions to our Father?

What child never asks the parent "why?"

Someone says God does not necessarily have our best interest heart, but I disagree.

Romans 8:28 states that "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

That being stated, should we question God, yes. But it's not if we should but how we should. Asking why did you allow this to happen, is in itself not wrong. What makes it right or wrong is our attitude. When we start to act like we are better than God, or when we approach God in anger, then we have asked God the wrong way. If, instead, we ask Him with a heart that's open and wanting to learn and understand, then we are showing that we want to know God more.

Hey Jude:

When we sin,we question whether the Lord.

When we steal,do we not question his power to provide for us.

When we lie,do we not question His Omnipotence/power to protect us from the consequences.

When we lust do we not question ABBA's power and wisdom to provide a partner.

When we covet,do we not question Yeshua to be all that we need him to be.

If we were honest with ourselves we would see that we question ABBA on almost everything about Himself and this life, which is OKAY,seeing Yesua laid His life down for us...

How big is our God,can we question Him knowing that He is bigger then my questioning of Him..

Peter questioned ABBA by saying " Not so Lord"

Act 10:9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

Act 10:10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

Act 10:11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

Act 10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

Act 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

Act 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Act 10:16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Act 10:17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean,

Shalom and Chesed:

St.George
