Lu 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

The Word Gospel being understood as good news, glad tidings.esus

Why not look at Jesus and his proclaiming the good news:

Mt 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Mt 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Mt 11:5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

It always amazes me how somehow some come up with the Statement Jesus requires you to repent of all your sins.

Why do you suppose Jesus never preached that?

Jesus came that man would no longer have to be separated from

God, the father's desire was to redeem man from Satan's dominion's and all his curses.

The church's message to the world is very simple

2nd Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2nd Cor. 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2nd Cor 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

2nd Corinthians 5:17

Repent (metanoeō) is to change one's mind.

And it does coincide with 2nd Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

How can someone be a new creature, how can old things pass away, and how can all things become new if he does not change his mind about his sins.

Think as you've always thought get what you've always gotten. :peace:

Just some extra food for thought, those that usually believe and teach you have to repent of your sins, then say they are saved and are still sinners Go figure.

Repent simply means to turn and go another way,

Repentance of sins does not mean you will stop sinning, it means that you think of your sins differently.

In other words; in the past a person didn't think the things they were doing were that bad. After repenting (to change one's mind) they know that what they were/are doing is wrong.

I understand what you are saying but I am talking about in context, what the bible means when we are told to repent.

If we had to repent of sins to be saved, what would happen to those who didn't remember every sin, which would include everyone?

:goofball: I do not speak in the brick tongue so this may be hard for you to understand. :dunce:

Repentance is not what saves you, if it was none of us would be saved, since none of us have repented enough. It is the right response to hearing the gospel. When you come to the Savior and repent with a broken heart and a contrite spirit it doesn't mean you have to remember every sin, (that would be impossible) it means you humble yourself before the mighty hand of God, then Jesus will save you.

Man's big problem is death, death came by sin. Jesus came to solve our problem by over coming sin and conquering death to redeem His chosen people. :boxing:
