#1- Have you read through your entire Bible yet?

#2- Why do some of you never post on any forum outside of this one? We fight a little less on the other ones! :goofball:

That would be nice, but there are too many differences in some doctrinal beliefs to even have a normal conversation about them on an online forum. Even just the simplest phrase that doesn't really even have anything to do with the topic may get rebuked and send the topic...uh...off topic. I've given up trying to convince anyone about the way I believe directly, it's pretty much impossible and it's Gods job anyway. I'm just hoping that someone will see what we talk about and either become more secure in their beliefs or insert a question about their current beliefs into their mind. I like "debating" because, with the right attitude, it keeps you searching the scriptures for the truth.

I agree that debating can be a very good thing... I guess it's just that it's overly plentiful here...

Pixy, let me share one of my favorite quotes (given to me by a wonderful brother in Christ) that I think is applicable to the discussion and sums up a lot for me.

from "The Divine Conquest" by A.W.Tozer

I am not an authority on any man's teaching; I have never tried to be. I take my help where I can find it and set my heart to graze where the pastures are greenest. Only one stipulation do I make: my teacher must know God, as Carlyle said, "otherwise than by hearsay", and Christ must be all in all to him. If a man have only correct doctrine to offer me I am sure to slip out at the first intermission to seek the company of someone who has seen for himself how lovely is the face of Him who is the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valleys. Such a man can help me and no one else can......

Pixy I wish there were more women like you in this country! Humble in spirit and not wanting to twist scriptures to justify yourself.

I have said this before, a true godly lady is a beautiful thing!

Good Evening,

Please tell me your views on women pastors? I agree BTW

@Dennis- I do not think that women should be pastors, but that's a topic for another thread!

You missed that topic!!! We even had someone twist scriptues so badly trying to use Adam and Eve to support women being pastors. Now that was a classic!

BTW to keep with the subject of thread - yes I have read the whole bible. No I have not set down and read from cover to cover like a novel. Like you Pixy I tend to read some books more than other, like the gospels I have read many times.

Personally I like to argue...LOL! Not really, but I do enjoy a good debate and I have no problem when it gets heated. And most of the "men" on here that still have their back bone I have a true respect for even if we disagree, and then there is the other group.

As far as arguing or debating with a woman, I had a preacher one times say this from the pulpit. A man can come to his office they can talk and even if it gets heated they can shake hands and walk away and still be friendly. You tell a women she is wrong, you better be looking for cover! Even on here I see that, oh how the women can get testy when they are they are challenged.

@DEEDEE- I liken the role of pastor to that of an elder/overseer and therefore believe that a pastor is subject to the criteria listed in the Bible, which state that the elder/overseer must be a man of one wife. Clearly, a woman is not a man, and therefore does not fit the criteria.

@MrRow- That's a good observation about women. I can understand better now why men are sometimes not as excited to engage in Biblical discussion w/ women =)

That's an unfair observation though...I haven't met many women on here like that....there's more men that do that on here:boxing:...
