I hope everyone has a great day,even PJ,hahaha,you have to Love/Agape' PJ.
O.C.= Old Covenant
N.C.= New Covenant
In the Old Covenant;the Father has given over 300 prophesies concerning the Messiah (Yeshua/Jesus).
There are also times where Yeshua/Jesus appeared on the earth,These are called Thoephanies or Christophanies.
1. Where are these appearances:
2. How did He show Himself:
3.Who did He appear to:
Here is one hint: The Angel of the Lord
Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
John 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
Exo 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
Exo 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
Exo 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
Exo 12:23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
Exo 12:24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
Exo 12:25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
Exo 12:26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
Exo 12:27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
There are many people that believe that the God of the Old Covenant is not the God of the New Covenant.
They say Yeshua/Jesus is different then the God in the O.C.
I hope eveyone has fun searching the O.C.Scriptures,for some this might be the first time doing so,
for others this might be a refresher study.
I trust everyone will be Blessed by the Lord; in order to be a Blessing to those around you.
Here we have Yeshua/Jesus as the Rock, and the one Israel tempted/tested while in the desert.
1Co 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
1Co 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
1Co 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
1Co 10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
1Co 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
1Co 10:7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
1Co 10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
1Co 10:9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
1Co 10:10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
I will give one of the times in the Old Covenant Yeshua is called the Rock.
Look up the other time and ask yourselves,'Why did the Lord tell Moses,he would not lead Israel into the promised land'.
This other reference is in Numbers 20:1-12
Exo 17:1 And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
Exo 17:2 Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
Exo 17:3 And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
Exo 17:4 And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.
Exo 17:5 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
Exo 17:6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Exo 17:7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?
Trucker, thank you for the topic. Some of these things I already knew.Like It is believed that Jesus is the Angel of the Lord.Also, I think when Jacob wrestled with his visiter I also believe that was Jesus.The word does say Jacob wrestled with God. I have also believed that the fourth man in the firey furnace was also Jesus.Dennis
Many Christians that do not read the Old Covenant,miss the Beauty of seeing Yeshua within the Word of God.
We see His character,attitude and personality,as He reveals Himself to Israel.
Yeshua/Jesus of the New Covenant is also throughout the Old Covenant.
Instead of the believers being told to just go home and read their Bibles,by those that are SUPPOSED to be teaching(Pastors-Elders and others)...
How about those that know how to read and understand the Word;use what the Lord has given to them, and Teach the believers how to read and understand the Word of GOD.
'Freely you have been given freely give'.
Just thinking out loud again

Exodus 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
Exo 13:22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
"I hate to get technical...but actually, Jesus is nowhere in the OT.
Jesus was the name given to a child that was born approximately 2,010 years ago.
Christ however is the "Lord, God, etc.." that is spoken of throughout the OT."
Interesting belief, AdamW, but Jesus himself said that he WAS in the Old Testament.
God promised ABRAHAM that he would have a son. The man's name at the time of promise was ABRAM, but it was still the same person. Likewise Jesus was in the Old Testament, even if His name was Jesus for the first time on the day of His earthly birth. But the PERSON who was named Jesus by Joseph and Mary WAS indeed most certainly present in the Old Testament times, prior to His incarnation.
So technically HE WAS quite often appearing in the Old Testament, and He is EVERYWHERE in the Old Testament, as far as being foretold, foreshadowed, and fore-typed. Before He was born in Bethlehem, that same "HE" was present everywhere. Jesus who was born in Bethlehem is the same "HE" whose goings forth are from of Old, from EVERLASTING (Micah 5:2). The same baby in the manger is the one who said, "Let there be light," and there was light. Jesus is the name given Him at His birth, but it was still the same Him who is the creator. A new name doesn't mean that He is not the same person who was present in the Old Testament.
It is not technically correct, nor is it logical to say that Jesus is "nowhere in the Old Testament."
Sorry brother,Jesus was a name given to the Christ born of flesh and that only happened 2,010 yrs ago. Is there evidence of Christ in the OT, absolutely. Is Jesus the Christ, absolutely.
All this means is the Christ is portrayed in the OT, and in the new testament he appeared as a man in the flesh and that man was called Jesus.
The man Jesus did not exist before that point, his true identity of God/Lord/Christ etc... did.
So, "technically" the person born into flesh, named Jesus, made no appearance until he popped out in a manger in Bethlehem.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
It's right there, did you see it? The Angel of the Lord declared that the child that Mary had conceived by the Holy Spirit would be named Jesus.
At no point in all the OT had this event occurred.
I just want to say,Yeshua is the Hebrew name of the Messiah promised by the Father.
Jesus:is the Greek name given to Yeshua
I would like to ask:Who is the person that is talking to Moses here.
Exodus 3:1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
Exodus 3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
Exodus 3:3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
Exo 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
Exo 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
Exo 3:6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
Exo 3:7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
Who is this corner-nail-and battle bow that comes out of Judah.
Zec 10:1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
Zec 10:2 For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
Zec 10:3 Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
Zec 10:4 Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.
George, I always like to point out Psalms 110 as being a reference to Jesus / Yeshua in the Old Testament. If I am not mistaken this verse has caused many a Jew to pause and meditate on the identity of our / their Messiah.
Then to those who commented on my earlier post,
I would just like to say that I know exactly who Jesus is and that He is God. My comment above did not say or wonder if He was less than God. I said God came "as" a man...meaning He came in the manner of or the role of a man. His flesh was real flesh, nonetheless He is God. In fact, I ended it by inferring that "Son of man, God's Son, Creator of all things" were one and the same.
To reference my words and then twist and post your interpretation of them without asking for clarification first seems mean-spirited and haughty but, that is just my opinion. No biggie! If your post had not included the reference to my comment, then it would not seem mean-spirited but, just a lesson from you...again, just my opinion.
These Scriptures speak of Yeshua as the Son of God
I believe when Yeshua/Jesus called Himself the Son of God,When Satan called Yeshua Son of God,when the Gadarenes demonic said,Thou Son of God;
all of these knew who Yeshua is,the Son of God.

Rev 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
I believe the terms Son of God,and Son of Man,both of these refer to Yeshua/Jesus.
Son of God refers to Yeshua in His Diety
Son of Man refers to Yeshua in His Humanity
