Posted : 27 May, 2010 10:09 PM for Dgrimater, Yes, I believe "once saved always saved", however, that is the baptist way of saying it, and I have real problems with saying it that way coupled with HOW they make altar calls. Since Baptists have altar calls, and say "Once saved always saved", it can trick people into thinking that because they made a profession of faith, that they are saved. The Reformers had a MUCH better way of teaching the Biblical truth, and that is called "Perseverance of the Saints". That is that TRUE Christians WILL persevere in the faith until the end. If you go to www.monergism.com and you will see "doctrines of grace". click on that, and pick "perseverance of the saints". God, who is sovereign over ALL of His creation, chose whom he was going to save before the world was ever made. The reason that a Christian can not lose their salvation, is that God is the one who saves, and God does not change His mind. In Christ, James Post Reply
