We can see from these verses that God is UTTERLY sovereign over every tiny particle of the universe, and that includes the Salvation of every Christian.
Just HOW MUCH control does God have over everything?

Also these verses are wonderful Garrett
;Our names, it says, in Revelation 17:8 were written in the Lamb's Book of Life before the foundation of the world...before the foundation of the world. We are, says Peter, chosen...chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by the sanctifying work of the Spirit that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood. We are chosen unto salvation. We are chosen to belong to Him.
2 Timothy 1:9 it says, "Who has saved us," speaking of God, "and called us with a holy calling not according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace which was...follow this...granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity." Tremendous statement. He saved us. He called us not according to our works but according to His purpose, His grace, granted us in Christ from all eternity. That's mindboggling !. your a Christian today because before the foundation of the world from all eternity past, God chose to set His love on Garrett and to give Him the faith to believe at the moment that God wanted him to believe. He chose us.
In Ephesians 2 it says, "For by grace are you saved through faith and that is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should...what?...boast." We would take the credit if we had any credit to take. But it's all of Him...the grace is of Him, the faith is of Him, not according to our works.

PhilipJohn you are correct when you say words are important, thats why im using the bible for my proofs, these are not my words but Gods, and yes the bible is true.and I just dont understand how god giving Adam dominion over fish and animals has anything to do with Christ choosing his own bride.
In John there are several wonderful statements to this effect. One familiar to us, Jesus says, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him...compels him, pulls him, drags him." And in John 15:16, that wonderful statement of Jesus to the disciples in which He says, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit." We didn't choose Him, He chose us. We didn't decide for Christ in the truest sense, He decided for us.

Steve I have never said, theses scriptures mean this or anything, the bible does, know the scripture you posted is true it is the word of God, know tell us where it speaks of who has dominion on the earth.
It is very clear where our father presently is but we are talking of dominion on the earth.

You did it again manofgod:laugh:. The verse says Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world...not that we were written in the book of life from the foundation of the world. :goofball:
Revelation 13:8 (King James Version)
8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Anyway...I believe God is in complete control, but I agree with Garret. God created us with free will. If He would have taken it away I believe the whole bible would be trumpeting this event....but it's not in there. God is the total and complete ruler of the universe, but He chose to instill His created beings with free will. If you take away our free will, then this whole thing makes no sense and it makes God a self-loving puppeteer which is the complete opposite of what He died on the cross show us. God/Jesus is self-sacrificing to the utmost. God doesn't control everything...somethings He allows, and we're just too foolish to see that it's in His plan anyway. BUT! Thankfully....there is a huge difference between "planning" for something and "forcing" something. I just think God is powerful and smart enough to execute His plan/will through the free will He created us with. It's super easy to force a robot to do what you want...it's really freakin' hard to influence/manipulate the intelligence of a free moral agent. Give God some credit:laugh:.

Philipjohn,it is my beleif that you have fallen pray to the many false teachers out there, one of the new beleifs is called dominionism(sound familiar)
Dominionism teaches:
The Gospel of Salvation is achieved by setting up the Kingdom of God as a literal and physical kingdom to be advanced on Earth in the present age. Some dominionists liken the New Testament Kingdom to the Old Testament Israel in ways that justify taking up the sword, or other methods of punitive judgment, to war against enemies of their kingdom. Dominionists teach that men can be coerced or compelled to enter the kingdom. They assign to the Church duties and rights that belong Scripturally only to Jesus Christ. This includes the esoteric belief that believers can incarnate Christ and function as His body on Earth to establish His kingdom rule. An inordinate emphasis is placed on mans efforts; the doctrine of the sovereignty of God is diminished.
The new dominion mandate by control
Dominion theology is predicated upon three basic beliefs: 1) Satan usurped mans dominion over the earth through the temptation of Adam and Eve; 2) The Church is Gods instrument to take dominion back from Satan; 3) Jesus cannot or will not return until the Church has taken dominion by gaining control of the earths governmental and social institutions.6 [emphasis added]
