I would like to hear some peoples ideas or definitions of humanism. What is it? And, how is it effecting the church today?

I have my own sketchy ideas from listening to a sermon called Ten Shekels and a Shirt by Paris Reidhead. Powerful sermon if you ever get a chance to listen to it.

...they were MONSTERS of iniquity!

TBN for sure. I warn you if you have "any" Biblical discernment it will make you pull your hair out and want to throw something at the TV. I don't watch TV either but when I do I am amazed at the filth that I see now days. I don't know how a Christian can watch much TV today and keep a pure heart.

...and I don't think 2 Timothy is saying we're called to be warriors....we're supposed to be sheep, or harmless doves...that endure hardships LIKE soldiers.

2 Tim. 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

4No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

2To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

3For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Not sure what you meant by warriors, but Peter was a good example of one...and Jesus was a better example of what we're supposed to be.

The fight of faith is with the God of this world, it is not warring with man, he is with words still doing as he did in Genesis, it is so important to know the word of God, you can not know the devices of your enemy until your know who the lord is according to the word.

Mark good response.
