The Intolerance of Christ

Most people today believe the Lord will honor any kind of worship as long as it is sincere and meaningful for the person doing the worshipping. People pick and choose a faith of their choice and are very tolerant and respectful for each other's beliefs without going to God's word and see if God approves of them. Most people in Christendom believe we should always respect the other person's beliefs regardless whither we believe what they believe or not. Their thinking is we are going in the same direction and as long as its popular or seems right then it's OK.

I'm going to give an in depth look from God's word and see if God truly welcomes whatever you want to believe as long as it sounds reasonable and it feels good and is popular. Their belief system includes; no one can know for sure in this life and if you have a definite convictions from God's word; it is wrong and you a trouble maker to boot. It goes with saying people who advocate this kind of thinking are either not saved or they are saved and are ignorance of God's word. The world even in biblical times branded God's people as trouble makers. They were ether stoned to death, put in jail, fed to the lions and were hated by the people. The only difference today thank goodness, at least in this country they only make suggestion that a believer is a trouble maker and narrow minded. A spiritual believer will count it joy then they come across those who are guilty of things they judge God's people of. Then they will on the other hand say, not to judge, we don't judge you! No wonder the Lord said, Matthew 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

The Lord has made it clear, there is only one faith and not the faith of your choice as most practice.

It's says in Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

We should ask ourselves, is God wrong or is what is so popular to believe wrong?

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.Is believing what we want the right way or is God's way narrow and has no room for believing what we want?

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

God says His way is narrow and straight, but can we know for sure what is right and have all of God's truth on religion, both His way and the way of the world?

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

God tells us wisdom does not come from man, but that which the Holy Spirit teaches by comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

The bible is really very much alive and self explanatory if we follow God's instructions by studying to show ourselves approved by God. There is no way we can be approved if God's Holy Spirit didn't teach us God's will through His word.

I have seen so many people take two or three verses out of context and make a religion out of those verses and completely ignore the rest of God's word on the subject. God will not give us the spirit of truth and error unless we humble our hearts and minds and allow the Holy Spirit to teach us the truth of God unless we study and compare all of God's word on a subject. God also tells us, if we have the truth, the truth will set us free and indeed will be free indeed.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

We can know God's truth for God himself will witness to our spirit so we will know for sure.

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

1 John 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

God's way is narrow, but true, and it will set you free from the philosophies and false doctrines of man and his sects and denominations.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

A popular saying is join the church of your choice and God says there is only one body or church.

Romans 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

1 Corinthians 12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

The many members is not referring to sects or denominations but is referring to the born again believers in Christ. He is the only one who adds members to His one Body or Church. If you have to join a church it is not the one Christ is building but is a counterfeit designed by man's carnal minds and the god of this world.

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

If God doesn't add you to His church that is His body then you have no part with God unless you become saved. The many members are added by the Lord.

1 Peter 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

The reason God said the gates of hell will not prevail against His church because there are no unsaved in it.

Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Peace my friends,:peace: Is it not written that there will be many christ. As in, hate, rules.laws,and so many more.Even the devil can quote scripture. I am not saying anyone here is. Just a simple misquote.

When jesus want to the well to talk to the Sammartian women he was tolerant and forgiving. He was often flexable by asking questions about love and setting us free from the rigid intolerance of the law abiding priest.He who lives by the law dies by the law. once more peace my friends. :peace:Jesus was very tolerant, so much that he took all of our sins on his shoulders.

He was so tolerant that his mother was a virgin when she was with child she was not yet married. Jesus had to live with the shadow of the other childrens jokes about his mother during his childhood.

God is understanding we are not perfect, so he provided a way to get eternal life. It is by the grace of god that we are saved. This is so tolerant that we must not forget his love.Dennis

I have reproduced your reply and I will insert my replies in parentheses so I don't miss any of your statements.

All I have to say is...are you judging yourself with the same standard?

{Yes of course I judge myself with the same standards and walk in them as well. I don't do it perfectly because I still have my flesh to deal with on a daily basis, but in the basic concepts of not belonging to any denomination, I do walk in that, all my Christians friends I have, have a degree spirituality and are at various stages of their growth and those I teach the word to on a weekly daily basis, from all over the globe. I'm not a minister by any means and don't pretend to be a spiritual leader but the Lord the does use me from changing lives through His word to encouraging those who are His. I would say I am as careful as I can be to walk the talk. It's not difficult since my strength comes from the Lord. It seems the Lord has built a hedge around me for my life is very uncomplicated, and joyous even though I'm single. Anything I advocate from God's word on this site I walk in it.}

How do you know what you believe is the exact truth? {When a person understands most of the real truth of God's will from the bible, the Lord makes it know in our hearts and there are no contradictions in doctrine as there are in man's philosophical, sectarian doctrines. I'll give you an example. Most worldly doctrines teach two baptisms and not all teach them the same way. Some teach water baptism is necessary for salvation, thus nullifying salvation by grace. Other's teach salvation strictly a grace doctrine then after you are saved, they teach water baptism as a outward sign of an inward work. Neither one is found in scripture as that is part of their belief system. God's word teaches just one baptism for the believer. Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism. That is not a mistake in scripture. Water baptism is and was a ceremonial baptism of repentance for only Jews who believed their Messiah was soon coming. Gentiles were excluded from this baptism we later learn through the inspired word of Paul. Most any knowledgeable student of scripture knows that water baptism was one of the many fleshly ordinances that was done away with along with the law when it was nailed to the Cross.

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Christ also told his disciples the time was coming when man would worship in truth and spirit only.

John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

For a person to become a new man, one must have God's spiritual baptism. Not water; for when one is baptized in water, that is being baptized like him and God wants us to be baptized with him. There is a big difference. Spiritual baptism saves you and water baptism gets a person a little wet.

Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

I'll now give scripture to prove we can know when we walking correctly in truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. If there was not a correct way of understanding or dividing God's word then God would have been unfair in instructing us to rightly divide the word of truth so we won't be ashamed. This verse alone tells us there is only one correct way to understand God's will and if we are seeking his wisdom through his word, God's holy spirit is faithful to give us God's wisdom. 1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. Ephesians 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

This next verse is most important for those who desire God's wisdom. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Notice God give his wisdom liberally and He will give it. That is a promise from God. Every spiritual believer I know has far more wisdom than divinity school graduates. God's Holy Spirit is not slack in teaching us the deeper things of God and uses the power of God to take us far beyond the understanding of denominational preachers. God tells us there is not much wisdom in what man teaches. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. God also instructs us to walk in wisdom and to redeem the time. Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

The world teaches that we can't know God's complete will down here and won't know God's will and have enough wisdom to make us perfect. The word perfect in old English means mature. So in this case spiritually mature and we don't get it all at once, but we have a lot of wisdom from God and we continue to grow. The opposite is true with the wisdom of this world such as found in divinity schools. The thousands of sects and denominations prove out mans sensual and earthy wisdom abounds in confusion. God says so.

James 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

The kind of peace and contentment I mentioned early that I enjoy is found in having God's wisdom.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

God has no part in these kind of religions that cause divisions and confusion that is found in man's philosophies and divisions that is rampant in denominations and sects.

1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

If a person doesn't understand what the word church means in scripture this verse can be confusing. The word church as found in the new testament in the Greek means called out ones and does not refer to denominations as it does today. So when it mentions the church that is at Rome, or Ephesus, or wherever, it is describing a location where God's saints gather together for fellowship and worship. The church that was at Corinth for example, Paul had to teach them as babies in Christ because of their carnality that led to divisions within the group that was there.

1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Today these divisions exist on a mega scale that could not be comprehended during Paul's day. However, through the inspired words from Christ, Paul did tell us that in the last days there would be a falling away from the faith and that is so true today with over three thousand denominations and sects.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; In these days we are in, compared to the scope of time we are on the doorstep to the revealing of the son of perdition. Indeed we are now in Perilous times. 2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

I have given much in a nutshell, but if you should have further questions about wither I know I'm walking in the truth please feel free to ask, and that goes for those reading this thread.}

Are you being presumptuous?

{I take it you mean excessively bold? It that is what you mean, I'll give you God's instructions on what I see as being presumptuous.

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Paul and Barnabas gives us an example of being presumptuous.

Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

I hope that answers your question concerning presumptuous.}

Do you think you know the whole truth?

{Not all of it. I do however believe I have sufficient truth to be used by God as he seems to do so continuously. I do believe I have all the basics down and know the scriptures of the things I speak of and can give the scriptures to back me up.}

Then every single Christian out there could have the same conviction as you do. They could truly believe that they are following everything they see in God's word...and that my friend...is what counts.

{The sad truth is not many have sufficient wisdom to walk in God's truth because if they did, there wouldn't be the confusion and divisions we have in Christianity today. Believers would be walking in God's instructions such: Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

The above is just a few of the instructions from God that most believers ignore today. People instead of studying to rightly divide the word they put their faith in either or both their preacher or denomination, believing they will be led to God's truth instead of directly putting their faith in the Lord and only Him. The Lord does not give wisdom unless we put our faith only in him.}

Being perfect is not possible. Love God and do everything you can do to please Him...because in the end...knowledge of the word is not what saves you. Anyway..only God knows the heart...and the bible says that Christians will be in confusion and error until God calls them out.

{I do agree with you in regards to not learning everything overnight. And I agree knowledge is not what saves us it is our heart's attitude towards the Lord. However knowledge does give us proper instructions on how to serve the Lord correctly so we won't be ashamed when we stand before Him for our reward. As you know our service will be tried by fire.}

The trick is to be following God in everything you can, and then when He points out more truth to you...you will be in the habit of following whatever God shows you. But a christian life isn't *WAPOW*!! ALL THE TRUTH AT ONCE!!! It's a lifetime of following God...and you start out as babies...continuing to grow until death or Christ takes you. If death takes you before you're "prefect"...I still believe you'd be in heaven, because you were following God...and would have run the full race in all truth if you hadn't died.

{The word perfect according to Strong's concordance in the Greek means mature, not the way we understand perfect to be today. For that matter our new man is perfect from the time of our second birth because our new man can't sin.

Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

If you have any more comments to make please feel free to do so.}

dgrimater, If Christ is tolerant then he would have let sin slide by and not die for our sins.

God who is intolerant cannot over look sin do He took it upon Himself to become flesh and suffered for our sake.

Christ died for our sins not because he is tolerant, he did out of love and because God's righteousness is intolerant of sin in any form. He loved the world enough to save us from his coming judgment and wrath provided we want his free gift of eternal life.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

There is absolutely no tolerance in verse 18 when it says he that doesn't believe is condemned already.

For that matter none of the verses speak of tolerance but of love and intolerance.

I hope that helps you, Gary

God is intolerant towards sin but that does not mean that we should be intolerant towards sinners.

He is the only one that judges. And as much as we want to help Him, He wants to do this all by Himself, as He alone has the wisdom to do so.

The Bible verses are written to improve only one person: ME, MYSELF AND I.

Therefore I dare say. I must be intolerant to myself when it comes to obey the Scriptures and be very much tolerant towards others, who try to obey the Scripture.

As to intolerance, I feel Jesus is only intolerant to those who refuse to believe in Him. People who think that they do not need Him and think that they will make it to "heaven" on their own good works and deeds. There are also christian churches who promote these kind of "self-made-heaven-tickets". But still, I feel, that God will take care of that, rather than Him expecting me to open their eyes.

The Intolerance of Christ

My dear friend Ole Cattle asked me to post this for him:

gary,

i quote you here as you said 'Today, we have no other direct way of God speaking to man because God has ordained that it should be through his word or through the things God has created."

here you are preaching garys own private interpretation asgospel and not using GODS WORD. therefore what does that make you?

 GOD can use many ways of speaking to man today. how did GOD speak to man in the bible ,what does the bible say about it? well lets see, HE used a donkey for one to speak to a prophet with a mans voice.

2 peter 2:16 but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet.

then we also know HE used a burning bush.

exodus 3:2-62 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. 3 Then Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn."

4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am."

5 Then He said, "Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground." 6 Moreover He said, "I am the God of your father-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

then we can see that pilates wife was moved by a dream to tell pilate not to have anything to do with harmingthe just man JESUS as he was sitting in the judgement seat.

matther 27:19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."

then we see that joesph of joesph ,mary, and the child JESUS..were also spoken to by a dream.

13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him."

GOD also spoke to joesphthrough dreams...

genesis 37:5-11 5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. 6 So he said to them, "Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: 7 There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf."

8 And his brothers said to him, "Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.

9 Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me."

10 So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?" 11 And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

joesphnot onlydreamed what the LORD was showing him was gonna happen but also was able to intrepret others dreams as well. by the power of GOD.

then we also know the LORD used other people to speak to people and tell them what he says.

1 samuel 2:27 Then a man of God came to Eli and said to him, "Thus says the Lord: Did I not clearly reveal Myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house?

GOD can also use not only dreams but visions as well..

joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

GOD can also speak to us through tongues.a revelation from someone , an interpretation from someone.

Order in Church Meetings

1 corinthians 14:26-28 26 How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. 28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.

1 corinthians 36-39 36 Or did the word of God come originally from you? Or was it you only that it reached? 37 If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord. 38 But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39 Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. 40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

so see GOD can speak to you in many different ways.. by those around you, your circumstances, through your church,throughyour pastor, or a pastor ,through dreams, through visions, through tongues and their interpretations. through a burning bush, and yes even through a donkey speaking as a man.also by the HOLY SPIRIT within us as well.and yes through HIS word , but that's not the only way as you said.

what does that make you?

i also seen on another post you made you stated this " Also the word is not of private interpretation. 2 Peter 1:20."

lets take a look and see what that verse really says.

The Trustworthy Prophetic Word

2 peter 1:16-21 16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." 18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit

mister are you claiming to be a prophet of scripture? or are you just teaching your own private interpretation as you did in your statement? "Today, we have no other direct way of God speaking to man because God has ordained that it should be through his word or through the things God has created."

and also here below ,from another post you are giving your own private interpretation of the word and not a true prophetic word from GOD. what does that make you?

"God has given believers everything it takes to be honoring to Christ and if it is not found in His word, the Lord says it is sin"

you say that: if it is not found in HIS word ,the LORD says it is sin..

here is what the true word of GOD has to say the LORD says what sin is.

romans 14:22-23 22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.

1 john 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.

so what you stated was totally wrong with the word of GOD as its not what is not found in HIS word is sin but yet it is what is found in HIS word that tells you what sin is. so it was in fact only you giving your own private interpretation. and not GODS own words.

and for that, that makes you a what? a false what?

and heres some more scripture you might should take a look at closer.

proverbs 3:7 do not be wise in your own eyes. fear the LORD and depart from evil.

proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

proverbs 16:23 The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, And adds learning to his lips.

proverbs 26:12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

proverbs 8:13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

proverbs 27:2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth;

A stranger, and not your own lips.

isaiah 5:21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!

We must do that which is commendable, for which even strangers may praise us. Our light must shine before men, and we must do good works that may be seen, though we must not do them on purpose that they may be seen. Let our own works be such as will praise us, even in the gates.

When we have done it we must not commend ourselves, for that is an evidence of pride, folly, and self-love, and a great lessening to a man's reputation. Every one will be forward to run him down that cries himself up. There may be a just occasion for us to vindicate ourselves, but it does not become us to applaud ourselves. Proprio laus sordet in ore-Self-praise defiles the mouth.
