we were discussing this in class the other day and wanted to bring it up here and see what you guys think.

A person comes into your church with purple hair, piercings, tattoos and you can smell the alcohol on his body.

Would we treat him any different than when someone who is homosexual come to your church service?

How do you relate or do you?

How would one be different from the other?

Good point River,

You know, we can share Scripture without telling anyone we are quoting the Bible. You don't have to tell people "the Bible says" or give them chapter and verse. I like to talk to people and just work the Scripture into the conversation. The Bible doesn't say "the Word of God is powereful and sharper than a two edged sword unless you forget to tell people it is the Word of God" The Word has authority and when you speak it it has its effect. It will not return void and you will be able to speak Truth without offending people. If the Word sounds to them like it is coming from you rather than your Bible they will be more likely to receive it.

People respond to genuine sincerity positively. We don't have to cram our religion down their throat or expect them to respect the source of our information. We simply have to respect them and recognize them for who and what they are and accept that they have broken lives, broken hearts and broken dreams and we know the Guy that can fix that stuff. All we have to do is get them to the Healer.

My brother is like that and then it led to drugs. Now he has stopped drinking and gave up drugs to keep from going to

jail. he still does tatoes in his home.He hangs out with unsavery characters so I keep a polite distance. all my communcation is done at my parents home.

My parents take his kids to church. I let my parents deal with it.

as I do not support it.I Love him but will not get involved in his mess.

dear folks, i just wanna make it plain from my earlier post that just because someone comes in and has different colored hair or tattoes or piercings.... thats not why i would of been worried bout them disruptin the service.. it was because the question asked stated that they also had alcohol on their breath..and had been drinkin.. thats the reason why.. not because of the other things mentioned..
