I know that many seem to have been taught that you must interpret the word, but my question to is how does faith cometh? Why do you think you are an interpreter?

Chering,

You said: I would definately be interested in the credentials of this "study" as in my heart I know that God has preserved his Word without error and it disturbs me to think of those who cast doubt on the integrity of this remarkable book of Truth.

I say: Pick a translation and I should be able to pick out a dozen or so off the top of my head.

The problem isn't in the basic message usually, although some even have these. It is in the deeper meaning of the word that you only get by serious study. The OT had a thing called the masserah that made it impossible for anyone to add to or take away from the word as long as it was written in Hebrew.

Just like when you translate anything from one language to another, the word you use to describe what the Greek was talking about may seem harmless until you really start digging for meaning and there is nothing there. That is when you dig out you concordance and go back to the original language. I know, for years I thought it didn't make enough difference to worry about, but I was wrong.

I think that most of the English translators did a good job as far as the basics are concerned, but the English language itself falls short for the nuances needed for deeper study.

Blessings,

Leon

Hi Leon:

Undoubtably! 27 (?)letters of the Hebrew alphabet and 27 OT books. All writings upon the whole earth are written/read towards Jerusalem - east of Jerusalem books are written and read from right to left and west of Jerusalem books are written and read from left to right. There are mysteries to behold in the writings but English still provides the main messages without error .... its just not as much fun!

Blessings to you,
