Using Scripture only:

Can anyone show me where in Scripture it says which books were to go into The New Testament?

Also where in Scripture does it say that Scripture is "the Pillar and Foundation of Truth" (not just "useful")?

Also where in Scripture does it say that some books should be taken out of The Old Testament and no longer considered inspired ( Maccabees...etc )?

I think these questions will be a good starting point.

Excellnet point!

As the saying goes: The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. That is why it is such an awesome cohesive, divinely inspired, rip roaring good read (my opinion only of course)

The Old Testament "points" to the New Testament. Things like -- The Flood being the precurer of "Baptism" -- a Goat Lamb having to shed blood so as to "cover" Adam and Eve's "sin" -- the Sacraficing of a Lamb and then that Lamb being "eaten" at the first Passover being the Precurser to The Eucharist.

And The New Testament is The Old Testament's prophecies revealed.

If The New Testament conterdicted The Old then it could not be from God. Many of the books and letters circulating at that time did not conterdict The Old Testament and were a very convincing read...so convincing that many of them were being believed and used by Priests as Holy Scripture. This had to stop.

I think that the Flood points to the New Testament in a much larger way than "baptism" - for example:

Gen 8:4 "And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeeth day of the month upon the mountain of Ararat" Why does the Scripture tell us the exact date?

"The Jews have two calendars. Their civil calendar starts at Rosh Hoshana, in the month of Tishri, in the fall. However in Exodus 12:2 when the Passover was being instituted, God instructed Moses, "This month (the month of Nisan, in the spring) shall be unto you the beginning of months, it shall be the first month of the year to you". Thus, the Jews actually have two calendars: They have the old "Genesis" calendar which starts at the first of Tishrii and they also have a religious calendar which begins with the month of Nisan (in which Tishri turns out to be the seventh month).

Jesus was crucified on Passover, which is on the fourteenth of Nisan. He was in the grave three days, resurrected on the seventeenth day of the seventh month of the "Genesis" calendar. Gods new beginning on planet earth nder Noah was on the anniversay, in anticipation of our new beginning in Jesus Christ"!
