Regarding some recent discussions...Posted : 15 Feb, 2010 08:35 PMI know Ole Cattle has already hit on this on a few threads, but I wanted to draw more attention to what he said simply because I imagine a lot of people stopped reading the LONG arguments before seeing what was said. The longer I've been on these forums, the more I've seen it. Instead of encouraging each other, many people get sucked into "heated" debates with one another. It's happened to me on occasion. Sometimes I catch myself before... sometimes I let loose. It's a matter of self-control, as well as a few other fruits of the Spirit. I hope that we can try and revert to our peaceful discussions with one another. I know that not everyone agrees with everyone else on here, but we are ALL believers in Christ Jesus, and we are ALL equally loved by God. Let us treat each other with a little more respect. I'm not saying to refrain from sharing your opinions! Just be careful how you do so. Be considerate. And... keep Titus 3 verses 9 and 10 in mind. Saying the same thing over and over again probably won't change anyone's mind. (It won't change THIS hard-headed mind, anyways! lol) Peace and Love to everyone here. |

Regarding some recent discussions...Posted : 17 Feb, 2010 09:33 AMYour words are very true but in order to achieve this, people have to be "willing" to be wrong in what they believe and eliminate their pride. It doesn't matter if we are right or wrong. What matters is that we pursue studying God's word so that we learn the truth no matter the cost even if it means switching churches or losing fellowship with people because they cannot accept what you have come to believe which is now different that what they do. |

Regarding some recent discussions...Posted : 17 Feb, 2010 08:54 PMI haven't posted very much in these forums for several reasons. The main on being that I find alot of bickering and highmindedness in them. It seems that there is put-downs and thinking of one's self as better than others in alot of the posts. To me that is not being Christian in any aspect of the word. The scripture tells us to stand up for the right but also to not put stumblng blocks in front of our brothers and sisters. If you can't speak in an edifying way then you probably shouldn't speak in the first place. |
