View Profile History	What is the Differance... Posted : 11 Feb, 2010 08:47 PM Peter's response came out of a revelation of the Father in Matthew 16. One of the problems with Christianity is we don't allow the Holy Spirit to convict. We force people, pressure people, try to talk people into responding to God. Many "believe" because their pastor taught them what to believe, or their church, or their parents or grandparents...ect. I like the response in Acts 2 when Peter preaches the gospel. Instead of Peter telling the people to come up front for an altar call and to repeat these words, the people basically cried out and said, Men and brethren, what must we do to be saved? I would like to see fresh conviction on a people that causes them to press upon the preacher and ask in earnest what they can do...rather than come up and say these words and now you are going to heaven. We have made a ritual and formula out of this instead of allowing a true working and conviction of the Spirit of God in our midst and we, as a church, have to return to Him having His way once again. Posted : 14 Feb, 2010 05:24 PM Just a few thoughts...I agree in principle with most of what I have seen here...just wanted to add my two cents worth :D 1) There's no such thing as differing levels of Christian. Either you are or you arent. Simple. 2) There are people who say they are Christian but arent - many of them actually. These are (usually - not always) the ones who talk the loudest, argue the hardest and are the most often found in the spotlight. 3) It is NOT up to us to decide or judge who is Christian and who isn't. It IS up to us to LIVE, LOVE and BE as Christ - the rest is up to him. 4) Christians should strive to be humble, loving, caring, compassionate, honest, trustworthy etc - in short, we should be spending out time getting to know Jesus and as a result of that becoming more and more like him every day. One was mocking and the other defending... even though he was never baptized or filled with the Holy Spirit ...he made it in with perhaps close to his last breath. Post Reply
