John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 18 Jan, 2010 12:50 PMI want to pose a question, to bring peaceful communication to christians on this site, and defining a christian as one that is born again. Why Do believers seem so frequently, to not believe the word of God as the truth? |

John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 18 Jan, 2010 10:19 PMHmm... when I say, "Does it really matter?", I don't mean interpreting all the scriptures the right way. My point was that we all seem to have our disagreements about certain interpretations or points made in the Bible and we make it a point to convince everyone else that we're right. THAT is where the irrelevance is. We spend too much time disagreeing and not enough time in other areas of our Christian walks. There's nothing wrong with discussion and fellowship, but there is a line, also. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that... |

John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 19 Jan, 2010 06:33 AMI just know that the bible is true. The bible interprets scripture. There are enough different places where the bible refers to the same thing to get a consensus. If there are 50 verses that contradict your belief, then it's your belief that is wrong. Not the bible. Just seems like a lot of people put a lot of effort into ignoring what they don't like. I do it too...but I just think we all need to try a little harder. Never stop growing. Get the weeds out of your spiritual field. But I also believe that it really doesn't matter at all. As long as you honestly believe something is God's truth...without "stopping up your ears" to anything...then that is what counts. Your faith makes you whole in my opinion. And the point can be proven in the fact that in the end times, God's people are "in Babylon", and the ones that are still living at those end times are in need of being "called out". Meaning they are "God's people", but they are also in error and confusion. Like the parable of the 10 virgins. 10 virgins(churches) that had oil(holy spirit) and light(truth). ALL of them let their oil burn up, let their lights go out, and fell asleep. When the call came...5 lost their faith and went searching in the dark...5 made it into the wedding supper. Anyway...thy word is truth....the end. |

John 17:7 Thy Word Is TruthPosted : 30 Jan, 2010 10:37 AMYou pose a good question: My thinking is God told us from the begining that he was the truth. While Jesus was here he told us he was the truth, the way and the only way to the father. I'm not here to judge anyone but the people who say they believe and then on the other hand say they doubt the written word can hardly be called true believers .Time and time again God told us he doesn't change that he was the same, is the same, and will always be the same. For me and my house I believe this.Donna:prayingf: |
