Would you die for your faith?

If you were forced at gunpoint to choose between life and death, between acknowledging Jesus as your Lord, or denying Him so you could live, how would you choose?

I base this on the real life tragedy from the Columbine High School massacre on 4/20/99. Michael W. Smith wrote a song, "This Is Your Time" to honor the young lady who was forced into this very circumstance. She chose death, to not deny Jesus Christ as the author and perfecter of her faith and life.

" I will die for my God. I will die for my faith. It's the least I can do for Christ dying for me" - Cassie Bernall

If you chose to live, and to deny Jesus as your God, how would it be possible to really live from that moment on?

I think of Judas who betrayed Christ, and the internal consequences he had to suffer. I'm sure unbearable would be the least of what he felt, but it's inspiring to know of her courage that she used to follow through with and gain an eternity with Jesus at a younger age than most.

Any thoughts?

I think most of us would be willing to pay the ultimate price of laying down of lives for the faith.

The real question is what about BETWEEN HERE AND THERE? How about giving up a little time for someone in a nursing home? or how about dying to you own desires and letting someone else go first?

Or how about being patient with poor drivers who are going to slow or who cut you off.

What about the little things day by day where we can lay down our lives, our own interests, for OTHERS?
