There are four different types of love in Scripture: 1.Eros refers to sexual love within a godly covenant Christian marriage. 2. Storge refers to family relationships and obligations. 3. Phileo refers to love among friends, as close as brothers or sisters. 4. Agape is a totally unselfish love that comes from God alone-- the type of that chooses to continue selflessly loving someone even when he or she makes it difficult. Christ's sacrifice and His love model what it means to choose to love. What love do we need to base our relationships on, Christ's agape love demonstrates this and we need to base our love on His agape love not our flawed human love and base our foundations of our relationship with Jesus and others on His love that is unconditional.
