THE TRUE GOSPEL=>Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. When you have believed you have obeyed.

Please read the following excellent explanation of the Gospel by former Moody Memorial Church pastor, Harry A. Ironside (1876-1951)...

Harry A. Ironside“The Gospel is not a call to repentance, or to amendment of our ways, to make restitution for past sins, or to promise to do better in the future. These things are proper in their place, but they do not constitute the Gospel; for the Gospel is not good advice to be obeyed, it is good news to be believed. Do not make the mistake then of thinking that the Gospel is a call to duty or a call to reformation, a call to better your condition, to behave yourself in a more perfect way than you have been doing in the past …

Nor is the Gospel a demand that you give up the world, that you give up your sins, that you break off bad habits, and try to cultivate good ones. You may do all these things, and yet never believe the Gospel and consequently never be saved at all.”

Dom, you’re missing the point of the passage, especially regarding the meaning of the word “perish”.

Selecting the proper meaning of a word, especially when applied in a specific context, is not determined by whimsically selecting just any O meaning and applying it without reference to the larger context at issue.

I’m going to copy and paste a piece by John Piper that may help explain the particular context in question.

"Unless you repent you will all likewise PERISH." Now what does "perish" mean? Sometimes the word simply means die in the sense that we all will die physically. But that would not fit here since Jesus implies that if we repent, we will not perish. "Unless you repent you will all likewise perish." If you DO repent, you won't perish. So perish is something more than simply die a physical death.

Since Jesus connects it directly to sin and since he says it can be escaped by repentance, I take it to mean final judgment. He is referring to something beyond death. Those Galileans were taken unawares and experienced a horrible end. Unless you repent, you too will be taken unawares and experience a horrible end—the judgment of God beyond the grave.

"Perish" in the New Testament

The word perish often refers to this terrible judgment in the New Testament. For example in John 3:16 it says, "For God so loved the world that whosoever believes on him shall not perish but have everlasting life." So perishing is the alternative to having everlasting life. The same thing turns up in John 10:28. Jesus says, "I give them eternal life, and they shall not perish for ever." Perishing is what happens to you if you don't have eternal life.

And then, secondly, you wrongly refer to repentance as a human “work”.

Where do you find “repentance unto salvation” declared as a human work deserving of salvation in the Bible?

Yes‼️ Exactly ‼️🤣😇

I’ve already tried that on the first video but I continue to turn up with unrelated videos.

I tried the second site and found a young lady by the name of Renee. She comes across as one who believes the gospel (at least in this video) but soon puts her biblical and denominational ignorance on display the longer she speaks.

First, while she decries those appealing to “straw-man” characterizations she sets up her own straw-man attacks on those who believe differently. Seems she doesn’t understand the straw-man fallacy or how it applies

Secondly, Renee scorns “Lordship salvation” but in a strange twist of irony mixed with ignorance, she defends it‼️‼️ Perhaps unknowingly and inadvertently

It becomes clear Renee doesn’t understand the comprehension of either the concept of free grace or of lordship.

We as Christians should be as comprehensively as possible and aware of Bible doctrine and especially of what we believe otherwise we become like Renee who appears to believe that all free grace folk and all lordship folk consist of easily determined divisions based on easily defined sets of beliefs comprised only of specific differences of doctrinal identifies.

I mentioned in another post that all free gracers do not believe the same. Some hold to lordship salvation and don’t know it. Likewise, not all lordshipers believe the same, in fact, some of them are legalists but some are free gracers but just don’t know it. Many don’t know what they are.

But Renee has established her own arbitrary set of rules, distinctions and definitions. Worse yet, she ignores or is ignorant of real distinctions within similar and even within diverse groups.

In effect, she has set herself up as a sort of maverick judge over all of them. Her only distinction is her incompetence

Mark 1 verse 15

I see Dom posted what i have been saying for some time now about what true repentance is. To Repent, is to change ones mind/understanding about the Gospel. You are not believing the Gospel,repent/change your mind,BELIEVE the Gospel.

We also repent of UNBELIFE,as all sin is the result of UNBELIEF,not believing what is written in the Scriptures.

Repent (from not believing the Gospel) and believe the Gospel.

It's NOT "Repent (of your sins) and believe the Gospel."

Finally, someone is beginning to understand.

Quiz, it’s becoming clear why you cling to such non-biblical nonsense. Do you believe it’s ok for Christians to keep on sinning in the flesh so long as they’ve “repented” in their mind?

Quiz, like most people hung up on false teachings, you don’t seem fond of answering questions. But there’s another question for you to ignore.
