I have a relative who is going through a rough spot. She is convinced God isn't hearing her prayers because she isn't getting the results she wants. I remembered the passage in 2 corinthians 12. Paul had an ongoing difficulty. Over the course of three different times, he prayed that God would deliver him. But God didn't give paul what he prayed for. He gave paul something better. God said, my grace is sufficient for you. He essentially told Paul, when you are in weakness and trials, I can reveal myself. When things go the way we want, we have that sinful tendency to rely on ourselves. Paul realized that and said, I will boast in my afflictions and distressed. No matter how hard our outward circumstances are, God will give us the inward spiritual power and grace to go through those things. He doesn't say he will take those difficult things away. He will give us the grace to live lives that please Him in the midst of hardship.

Believers should Confess any misplaced affection, and ask for help in making God the object of our devotion.

We are not to prioritize anything above God .

God is jealous for our ❤️ heart.

Quiznos and moonlight,

you both seem to be saying the same thing. the faith healers say similar things. if your prayer isn't answered, it's because "you don't have faith, you have sin in your life, you aren't asking in His name." do you believe in faith healing? Are you ever sick? do you have any chronic physical or emotional conditions? if you do, why?

so what about paul? Did God refuse to respond with a "yes" to Pauls prayer because paul had sin in his life? did he ask in the wrong name? did he have enough faith? or did God have a greater purpose like with the blind man in John? Christ healed the blind man. But Christ clearly said that the blind man was not blind because of sin. But paul wasn't delivered from his affliction. God had a greater purpose to let paul continue in his infirmity. the death rate i still one per person. those who believe in Faith healing even get sick and die, no matter how much they belittle other christians for their supposed lack of faith.

There are two clear cases where Paul did not heal someone.

2 Timothy 4:20- I left trophimus at miletus sick.

So does that mean paul didn't have the right kind of faith to heal him or trophimus didn't have the right kind of faith to get healed?

1 Timothy 5:23- use a little wine for your stomach and your frequent infirmities.

Again, was Timothy unfaithful or did paul resort to human resources because he was unfaithful?

These were people suffering for the faith. I'm not saying they were sinless. I'm saying we as christians have made absolutes out of things which aren't absolutes.

No absolutely not ! I'm not saving a person don't get healed because they don't have faith or enough faith.

God does heal. It is His working of Miracles.

I can not answer why He does, it's All for His Glory!

Hallelujah ! Praise the Lord God!

I didn't say sickness came from a person sinning.

The Fall of Man brought about Sin, in the garden of Eden.

All kinds of sin.

God does what He wants , when He wants!

He is the Almighty God !!

We don't Always have answers for How and Why God does things in this Life .

We can only study His Word and Trust Him .

@Ohio

Ohio, moon and i are not saying the same.

I believe the prayers of people are not heard by Yahovah,as they do not approach Him with His revealed names.

The name of Yahovah is not lord,LORD or god,GOD, lord is the name or title of Ba'al, and god or GOD is a generic title.

Whatever you ask in my name, that will i do, now what is the name of Messiah, it would have to be the same name He was known by when He said to ask in His name.

Jeremiah 23 verses 24-29

Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the LORD.

25 “I have heard the sayings of the prophets who prophesy lies in My name: ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’ 26 How long will this continue in the hearts of these prophets who prophesy falsehood, these prophets of the delusion of their own minds? 27 They suppose the dreams that they tell one another will make My people forget My name, just as their fathers forgot My name through the worship of Baal(lord)

28 Let the prophet who has a dream retell it, but let him who has My word speak it truthfully. For what is straw compared to grain?” declares the LORD.

29 “Is not My word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that smashes a rock?”

Translations make the people to forget the Name(s) of Yahovah by using Lord,LORD,GOD or god.

What's amazing is how many " professing christian" men on here divorced seeking a marriage or Long term relationship!

Men are supposed to be head if household.

Most divorced men didn't fulfill that in the marriage.

Head don't mean Boss

Seems they need to pray for understanding and how to please a Wife . Before they look for another one .
