I need help with this passage

Hello my fellow brothers and sisters.

I know that we are to take care of our bodies because it is the temple of the Lord. However, reading the following passage makes me wonder if our Lord God will return with a tattoo on his thigh:

Rev. 19:16

On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Can you help me understand it...Thank you in advance for your help.

God Bless,

Zoe

I wrote this out quickly, so it may be difficult to understand. If so, I apologize.

On his robe and on His thigh = outwardly and inwardly

he has this name written: King of Kings and Lord of Lords = Christs name is the same, both outwardly and inwardly. Unlike us, the substance or reality of Christs name is pure and true both outwardly (the robe) and inwardly (his thigh).

Though Adam and Eve were covered by skins that represented Christ outwardly (the robe dipped in blood(verse 13) with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords written on it), the name written on their thigh (the substance of their name, their inward reality, their identity) was sinful, fallen and flawed.

In this life, all believers are covered with this same robe. The robe of Christ Himself, which bears his name. But in this life, the name written upon our thighs will remain a work in progress through the continual renewing of our minds = the renewing of our identities (our sinful selves) the substance of our names.

dear folks, i agree with thaddeus on this.. it could be either one.. and as for bush man he didnt mean no harm by what he said... i agree with what thaddeus said about what he meant. .. since this is a place to come to try to find answers for yourself . or to relay your beliefs, no question is unimportant..

The question was meant to help you ask the question you really wanted to ask but hadn't voiced.

thank you ole cattle. miss ya buddy!

Bush my brother, you may have tried to answer a question with a question that CAN and WAS perceived as one bothered that such question was asked, and so i ASK you to consider your words and the tone it might come across as prior to submitting them. okay? friends?

Have you seen the studies about people's ability to perceive emotional content in pictures? In those studies, people who are in environments favoring certain emotions (sadness, anger, depression, etc) tend to see emotionally neutrally faces in light of their environment instead of objectively as neutral.

On the internet this same pattern is manifest in every conversation. You always have a choice: look for a hidden insult or to bear with patience, giving the benefit of the doubt.

If you found my words hard, I would encourage you to ask yourself why you found them so when no one else had.

Bush my brother, I found your words hard for the obvious reason. when one asks a question and one replies, "What difference does it make?" it can be perceived in a negative way regardless if there is sadness, anger, depression, etc. in his/her life. Normally, one replies to a question with an answer rather than a blunt question.

As to why no one else felt your words were harsh (notice it was only men that commented that), I don't know. Perhaps others did and did not submit their comments. Only God really knows. But that's irrelevant. I was taught then when you say or do something that hurt, offended, etc. someone, whether you meant to or not, you take responsibility by apologizing to the individual. Of course, you do what's in your heart. All I ask of you is to please choose your words wisely, watch the tone when submitting your comments. We all have different personalities, come from different backgrounds and so forth. We are bound to misunderstand and/or misinterpret one another. The important thing here, to me, is that we love and respect one another. Please know that i have no ill feelings towards you. God Bless you.

I would like to think that it is a written proclamation of who he actually is. If you remember when Jesus walked on earth, a lot of Jews did not believe who he claimed to be. But then again not Him, but Whom the Father proclaimed him to be. I would like to think that the writting was a proclamation so that absolutley no one would misunderstand WHo HE IS. So that all the world could c HIM, in HIS reality as he rides. So that there would be no mistaken who HE is THis time.

HOpe this helps also.
